The Big East. Real solid...no national champ contenders but a bunch of Sweet 16 type teams.
Agreed. The BE has had a strong season up 'til now, yes.
MAC.

People think its terrible but its actually a pretty solid conference 1 through 8 every year. A couple of duds weigh it down in the ratings.

Missouri Valley is the most underrated. 8 wins over higher rated conferences.
SEC. 3 teams in the Sweet 16 last year. They are not a deep conference but every team that will make the tourney is a threat.

I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to the Missouri Valley. How many of those 8 wins are by Wichita St?

*edit*
are you sure that's correct because I looked at the schedules for Wichita St and N. Iowa. It looks to me alone they may have more than 8 wins. Do you consider the A-10 a higher rated conference?

Oh! I like you. But if you are going to hang around here. You might not want to give the SEC any love. People will start hating on ya.

I don't think the Big East is underrated. It's currently ranked the #2 basketball conference, right behind the XII. That doesn't sound underrated to me.
MWC. 4 teams in the TOP 60 RPI right now. Another that can get under 100.
Last year, the Big 12 was the RPI #1 conference going into March Madness. Two schools made it as far as the Sweet 16.

In 2013, the MWC was the RPI #1/2 conference going into March Madness. No one got past the first weekend...

You learn who the real "top conferences" are in April, not January.

The Big East is having a good year. I think they're still reaping the rewards from last years' rather disappointing year.

WRONG!!!!

All you learn in the NCAA tourney is who the top teams are. It says very little about the strength of the various conferences.

You need to look beyond the top teams, and view the conferences as a whole. Even if Kentucky wins the NCAA tourney, will anybody seriously think the SEC is a better conference than all the other conferences? I think not. At least not if they have more than a couple of active brains cells.

totally disagree. I don't give a rip if your last place team is better than my last place team. That's completely meaningless. I'd take last years SEC over pretty much anyone- 2 final 4 teams and a sweet 16 team. Depth is to me waaaay overrated. College bb has become pretty much March.

Yup...the SEC this year outside of Kentucky is horrid...what the SEC Did last year with Florida and Kentucky help their cause while the ACC Took a hit with no Final Four Teams.

You must not be paying attention. Arkansas isn't great but we aren't horrible either. We finally have some talent at point guard and our low post game is pretty salty.

At one time everyone thought the Earth was flat, that the sun revolved around us, and thunder was caused by Thor's hammer, a Thunderbird, or some other such nonsense. So popular opinion doesn't necessarily prove a thing. All it proves is what most people believe. But it's as likely that most people are gullible fools.

So thanks, but no thanks.

If your conference can't put a single team beyond the round of 16 then how do you call it the best, especially when that conference receives 7 bids...? 01-wingedeagle

If you can't figure the answer out there you don't deserve to understand, and I haven't the inclination to enlighten you further.
