Nice
Isn't he also a big part of our recruiting?

Yes, a lot of our defensive recruits were solid as long as he was still going to be here. He also is a relentless recruiter.
Worked with Fuente at Illinois state as DC...co-DC under Porter...three years learning under Odom...sounds like an easy choice to me.

Yep, no surprise there. The tough part will be replacing Scott in a position coach and recruiting role. We got a lot of bang for the buck with the entire D coaching staff.

Odom may also raid us for 1-2 coaches for his staff. It's the way it works.
I am very comfortable with this choice. Congratulations to Coach Scott!!
Good for him. I like this move, and I think our defense will continue to be impressive.

Coach Scott will do a great job and Coach Fuente will see to it. They work together well. The other assistants and coach shibest have been doing a great job recruiting also.

Defense will not miss a beat.

Deshughn Terry, Chris Morley, Shareef White and other young players got plenty of playing time.

We will be even better with the new class coming in.

GO TIGERS

GO GALEN SCOTT
04-cheers
happy.

Congrats to Coach Scott and 04-cheers

We have former Tiger, Marcus Bell, on staff in a non-coaching position...I think he might be ready to step into that role, but who knows.

That's pretty cool. Didn't know that.

I'm happy with this promotion from within.
Congrats to GS. Definitely the player's coach.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Randall McCray (Gardner-Webb DC) get a look for the LB job.

Does he have his degree?
Ok... Now, who will they hire to coach the safeties?

Yes, he returned to Memphis and graduated in 2010...he's been in his current role with the Tigers about 2 1/2 years.

Thanks. He's a nice dude, with a GREAT high school background... :-)

Seriously he has an incredibly important job today, and he'd be tough to replace in that role.
Wonder who is going to be the new linebackers coach.
