The selection committee invited 20 writers to come to Indy and pick a bracket under comparative conditions to the real thing. They have the hope of opening up the process some and allowing writers to undue popular myths or rumors.
It's an interesting read. I'd start with Andy Katz, who actually details who the writers chose.

Rick Bozich from the Lou. C-J is 1 of the 20 and will have an article in the morning edition.
Just for the recap of who the writer's chose, they had Marquette as a #2, Pitt as a #3, Nova as the 3rd BE team in (despite current conference standing), Georgetown, & Notre Dame. 5 total. WVU was 1 of the last 4 left out. No mention of teams more on the outskirt than that.
