Nice to see Alvano hit a couple threes, and KWard continue his confident offensive play. Samuels and Ajayi both played well too.

Alvano is developing as the season moves on. Ajayi is playing much, much better than last year (he doesn't look anything like last year's player).
Alvano looks much more comfortable running the show than Ross did in his freshman season. I think that's why they would be comfortable not rushing Bond back.

Nazione didn't play at all in the 2nd half. I hope that ankle is ok. He'll have a while to rest it.

We hit the century mark for first time in the Murphy tenure. Everyone scored, save for injured Bond and redshirting Nobles.
Yawner.

BTW, I liked the recruiting note:

Bond (and EMU) are trying to recruit a PG, former h.s. teammate, who went prep school. A former Toledo commit???

I'll check it out.

I know who the kid is... Last year Stokes played PG, and George and Bond played SG/SF.

P.S. that is why Bond didn't play PG last year. Stokes was a good PG.

Here is an entry from Wikipedia about Balto City Collegiate h.s.

First-Team All-Metro Selections (Selected by the Baltimore Sun[40])
Devin Brown, Guard (2007)
C.J. Fair, Forward (2008)
Adam Johnson, Forward (2009)
Jordan Latham, Center (2010)
Nick Faust, Guard (2011)
Timmy Bond, Guard (2014)
Omari George, Guard (2014)
Kamau Stokes, Guard (2014)

I'll check where he is at. Prep school, I think Chad mentioned.

The description reminds me of a PG at EMU, Michael Talley III.

Here is more...

Concordia visits at 1:00 and Lions visits Pack at 4:30.

EMU men's basketball and the Lions are back. Not many years ago both were bad.

EMU defense early in the afternoon. Lion defense in the later afternoon. (that was one helluva stop, Lions). 04-cheers

P.S. Holding Concordia to 16 is pretty good, too. 04-cheers
Steve/Sam, just to point out Price started in place of Lee in the Coppin St game as well. So not a one game message to Lee.
It is hard to question Murphy with his success, but he is leaving me baffled with the decisions to start Alvano and now Price.
Is there a coaches show I can call into? I am too curious about what his strategy/motivation is with this.
I like having a game like this going into the MAC season. Gives them a little more general practice time since they need not focus on the opponent. (If things were not going well, it could be a confidence boost too. Fortunately not necessary this season.

The Marygrove/ Rochester back to back in the middle of the non-conference was excessive though.

I think there will be a coaches show probably in early January. Kind of like the one KenB went to for football.

I believe Murphy likes to 'balance' his line up with Alvano starting and Talley playing with more substitutes.

The Lee situation seems more disciplinary type thing. Can be anything, mostly not serious things but still things.

Although Alvano appears a solid pg Talley should remain the starter when league play begins.

I'm not sure Murphy uses starters the way we think we would.

He uses Alvano with the starting five but bring Talley in with the first substitutes. So when the team loses offensive fire power Talley comes in to juice the offense. That makes sense as Talley can be a scoring guard. He can score when others are not.

Otherwise, Talley plays the most important minutes.
