Was it of these recruits or of other players? B/c I would have to think Sirjo, and Freddie Lenix are both very questionable on grades, and having them both come from O$U and having grade problems could be a huge problem.. they(O$U) give athletes A's for knowing what time the class is supposed to start..

couldn't hear the question, thought maybe it was my computer cuz there was this godawful noise that came after the ppt presentation of the recruits...it would make sense that it would be the transfers but i didn't hear any names...

Quote:IN SIX academic quarters at Ohio State, Maldonado had earned a decent number of credits (his 57 were the equivalent of about 40 at a semester school). He compiled a 2.3 GPA and had never lost his eligibility. But his coursework included four credits for playing football, three for Tressel's Coaching Football class, 10 for remedial reading, 10 for remedial math and three for Issues Affecting Student Athletes. Six other credits wouldn't transfer because he earned D's in two classes. Maldonado couldn't understand how he had earned only 17 transferable credits in two years. Even today the number pinballs around his head. "What kind of degree can you get from Ohio State if none of your classes count at other colleges?" he asks.
Not much of one, according to The Drake Group, an NCAA watchdog. Members of the organization refer to schools like Ohio State as "football factories" that offer soft courses designed to keep players on the field. "The purpose isn't to educate and graduate," says Drake Group associate director David Ridpath. "They're eligibility mills."

i wasn't busting anyone's chops...it was a natural assumption to make considering bk made comments about the 2 players working out on their own until they got their academics in order...but while we are on the subject, sammy maldonado, former prep star from NY played one year for the bucks and then transferred to maryland:

eroc, I'm sorry, that wasn't meant towards you. For the last few days, Poo has been spending a lot of his time and energy really cracking on anything and everything OSU. It just gets old.
As far as Sammy Maldonado, I don't know.

Quickly:
I flew into Dayton early this afternoon and immediately went to UC for Brian Kelly's signing day news conference. I'm in the middle of transcribing the interviews, but I just wanted to check in. I'll have something on the blog a little later regarding what Kelly said about Mister Simpson and Sirjo Welch.
But until then, you can check Lonnie Wheeler's blog. He was also there today, and he's going to grace you with his thoughts on the subject as well. If you're not checking out his blog daily, shame on you.
Also, don't know if you caught this, but here's the latest with Ben Mauk. Sounds like it's really going to happen.
