Mick Cronin, the Cincinnati Bearcats men’s basketball coach, sometimes forgets Troy Caupain’s age.
And then he remembers that Caupain, a sophomore, still could be playing basketball at Cosby High.
Caupain was the Bearcats’ youngest player as a freshman last season. That designation hasn’t changed this season as the recently turned-19-year-old grows into a lead role as the starting point guard.
Caupain, 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, has scored 35 points in the past three games and is averaging a team-leading 10.1 points for Cincinnati (7-2), which will become a gathering place for several Richmonders today when it plays host to VCU (7-3)...
