Bearcat Lair has a story up about Andrew Phelan visiting UC (2008 recruit). He's definitely the type of OL Kelly prefers (6'5" 268 lbs with a frame that can add pounds). He'd be a good pick up. He likes tO$U per reports (and HC Larry Cox seems to favor/push his players to tO$U).

UC has had very little sucess with Lakota West when it comes to recruiting. This is a school where Kerry Coombs may definitely make a difference having coached in the GMC.

I am not a Lair member but wanted to give them props for the tip (I didn't know he was taking an unofficial visit).

Most Lakota West players have been overated through the years, but I really think Phelan and DB Bakari Bussey are going to be legitimate good solid D-1 prospects next year.

Good point on Coombs, you have to think that could only help UC getting in the door there, because there is no doubt Cox pushes his kids hard to O$U...
Bukari is former Bengal Barney Bussey's son isn't he?

I'll have to look for him this year.

Yes he is. I think he has the potential to be a good prospect. He is about 6'1 / 6'2 and is a good athlete, he has nice speed.

Maybe it's time you give BCL a try... j/k I think you are correct as far as UC being able to recruit LW better now that Coombs is on board.

Then it will definately help that Ohio State plans on getting the offensive linemen Adams, Brewster, Long, Shugarts, possibly Sanders. OSU may not have any room for Phelan and it doesn't matter how you get your foot into the door just as long as you do.

OSU fans think they are getting everyone just like they thought they were getting Martin, Stills, Wright and others this year that they didn't land...

Understood, but if they do get the bumper crop that is expected it does leave less room for Phelan to go there, no matter how hard Cox pushes.
