I think so
What sport?
Probably should move to the smack board.
This is better than the sweet baby Jesus topic Pal
If we didn't crap the bed ooc we would too. 3 p5 wins.......
I was hoping you guys would go undefeated ECU
Nope
I'm trying to remember these "previous years" when USF and UConn were good.

Mascot competitions.
bottom line, if our conference took care of business OOC.......... imagine the following:

UCF, memphis, Cincy, and ECU all top 25 ranking, all within the CFP rankings, and all vying for the access bowl spot....... possibly even an at large spot in a perfect world.

that alone is a P6 conference.......

but NOOOOOO (with as much a voice of a whiny little middle schooler), we all needed to crap the bed OOC.
You could say you want everyone to be a powerhouse, and every single year. That's just not reality, programs will have their ups and downs. Actually, we've debated this on other threads, you DON'T want everyone cranking at the same time. Everyone beats themselves up in conference, and no one ends up ranked. It's called parity. What you want are a couple of strong horses every year that end up highly ranked and represent the conference. Most of the P conference are carried by a few 'power programs' with a bunch of 'hangers on...'.

We are also the national champions in Cricket.

Come on bro... UCF had it's 'down' periods. Now you're enjoying your 'up'.

USF just shot up in conference so damn fast... that the bar was set pretty high. Around 2007ish USF did just fine, especially OOC. As you know, several really impressive wins for such a young program. But alas didn't keep it together for a conference championship... which pretty much led through Leavitt, through Holtz, to the current Bus wreck... and we're in our 'down'. And it looks like we'll be down for a good while. I can't believe Taggart survived this year...
FYI...

We need both to be good. Particularly with Cinci and Memphis leaving for the Big 12.

Thank you. UCONN yes. USF no. USF never finished better than tied for 3rd.
No. The Big East lost its power conference status when Rutgers, Louisville, Syracuse, and WVU left. It had nothing to do with UConn or USF. If USF and UConn were as good as they were in 2008-09, then we would just be a better G5. I believe Uconn, in their best season in the BE, finished at 25 (then got knocked out when they lost to Oklahoma) and USF never finished a season ranked. By contrast, the Big XII who got shutout of the CFP, has teams ranked 5, 6, and 11. There is no comparison and it would be laughable for us to have P6 status. So no, UConn and USF at their best won't save us.
No, P5 is crazy and doesn't play well with others.

I'm happy with USF's current status. I hope Taggart continues to drive the bus... At least until we even the series.

WOAH, congrats guys! I didn't know that happened?! You would have thought that would be huge news that 2 teams from a G5 are moving on up. Weird that the ADs and the Presidents didn't come out and make a big announcement. What does this mean for our schedule next year? Are they leaving tomorrow or the day after that? Do we still get to play them in basketball this year? I'm just so happy that it's finally official and we can move on from all this conference realignment nonsense.
