Let's hope for a good showing
This game and Cal is the only realistic shot of an at large (one can hope). It's likely going to be win the tournament or bust.
UL up 54-19 at halftime, ouch!
Embarrassing! Karen needs to go! Shes a good recruiter and nice person but not able to bring this program halfway out of the ashes of what it use to be. Shes just not Head Coach material that the ODU Lady Monarchs desperately need.
You might be generous calling a good recruiter also........the players we have on the court are simply not up to odu standards
Smh. Lady Monarch basketball can be, and should be, better than this. Year 5 for Barefoot and not too terribly much has changed.
Pathetic
Final Score:
46 ODU
100 Louisville
Well, today happens to be the day my alma mater is on the losing end of one of those embarrassingly disproportionate women's basketball scores. Dang.
Not long ago, that score would have been reversed. Sad.
unacceptable
Somebody please call Shae Kelley smh we needed her badly!!!!!!!! Today is the day I'm a little embarrassed at cheering for barefoot ?????? an is bad as I wanna just blame her our girls are just awful...... Judging from tonight ODU girls are a long long way from being even close to what it use to be.
Karen Barefoot should be an assistant. Nothing more.

At what level is the question smh geesh
Ouch...
A) We need to be better. There is no excuse to lose by 50+ against anyone.
B) some fans need to adjust their expectations. The glory days of Lady Monarch basketball are over and that has nothing to do with Karen Barefoot. The landscape of the women's game has changed. We can no longer compete with the top women's teams and no matter who the coach might be, we're not going to be a national power any longer. It's just not going to happen.

I don't think anyone is expecting a national power, but I think we should expect to be competitive. Not sure that Louisville is a national powerhouse. Hell we lost to Duke by 16 or so points. 16 points against a top 10 ranked team is respectable, 50+ is not
I agree with you that losing by 50 is unacceptable. But, for what it's worth, Louisville has a very good program and the gap in women's basketball between the haves and have nots is far larger than in the men's game. We're probably not good enough to stay within 15 of Duke on a regular basis, and we're probably not bad enough to get beat by 50 against Louisville on a regular basis. Some times you are the dog, and some times you are the hydrant.

I'm not sure I read what you noted in your B) comment above in everything being said on this thread. I really believe fans are getting frustrated because we are not competing at a higher level, and this has nothing to do with returning to the glory days of ODU being a power house. We just want to see competitive games and losing by 54 points to #10 Louisville doesn't do it. Something needs to change, and if you still don't believe that is the case, take a look at JMU and explain to me why a school, whose accomplishments don't come anywhere close to ODU Womens basketball, have been better than ODU in all respects the last 5 years.
I'm sorry, but losing to Rider on Nov 30 just did it for me.
I may be broken, but I still support Lady Monarch Basketball.

There is a difference between mid major basketball and big time basketball but all an all I agree that we shouldn't get embarrassed
