Lane Kiffin to Pitt! Kidding.. Probably gonna hire some MAC coach :/. What is this six coaches in ten years??
Overall I think Chryst was a good hire for Pitt to get things stable again. If they make the right hire they can get back to their success from the later Wannstedt years or even better. They're an easy sell with excellent facilities, recruiting hotbed, tradition, and a current roster with NFL talent.

I'd look at Rod Carey, NIU head coach, who I'd like Syracuse to hire.
I would like Pitt to take a look at Bo Pelini. He's from Youngstown OH, which is about an hour away. Make him feel like he's coming back home with a chance to coach in a major conference.
Pitt = a joke..... If 90% of the fanbase doesn't trust Pederson running the next coaching search then it's time to get a new AD.

Exactly, as I posted elsewhere on the CRB , In the new heart of B1G Country, Recruits know Him, Winning record, to Me a Magical Hire. I would be on Speed dial Yesterday.04-cheers
IMO, Pitt needs to call Bo Pelini - NOW!
I get the dude's ties to Wisconsin, but what has he done at Pitt that would inspire Wisconsin fans top think he would keep the Badgers in the top 25? I'm just not seeing it. I guess having that big rushing attack this year really excited Alvarez...

And if Pitt did hire Pelini, that'd be hilarious. Both Big Ten schools may have hired equal or worse successors, whereas the schools who lost their coaches to the Big Ten may have both upgraded.
Alvarez is hiring Chryst for one thing.....commitment. After replacing Bielema and Anderson over the last 3 years he needed the stability. Chryst isn't going anywhere. That is his dream job.
Bo Pelini would be a great hire for Pitt if they can get him. He completely slipped my mind.

He made just over 3 mil at Nebraska, though. Would Pitt be willing to pay him upwards of 2.5 mil?
I would love to see Pelini become coach. Joey, step down from the ledge. Pitt hasn't changed much since Walt took over. NOTHING CHANGED. Sounds like no buyout needed on Pitt's part. I liked Chryst, but we didn't see anything staggering from him - especially on the defensive side.

Alvarez wants a patsy . That's why Bielema and Andersen both left.

At this point, I don't want Clairton kids to play ball at Pitt. Every Clairton kid that committed to Pitt seen this turnover. This stability isn't fair to the kids that commit to the program. The program needs to look long and hard at the AD. It's obvious that he's the problem.
Mike Riley to Nebraska
Gary Anderson to Oregon State
Paul Chryst to Wisconisin
Po Pelini to Pitt

It makes a nice circle.
I can't blame Chryst here. That's the one job you knew he'd want to get out and take. Unfortunately, they've had their own turnover issues and now it looks like he's out the door.

I think he's a fine coach. He had issues defensively, but if he hires the right DC at Wisconsin, I think he'll be very successful. What he was able to establish offensively for Pitt was extremely impressive - a true force to be reckoned with.

I feel really bad for the kids at Pitt. They've really suffered through a lot. I also have no confidence in Steve Pederson to make a good hire. Unfortunately, I don't know how we could hire an AD fast enough to also make the coaching hire.

IDK why Pitt rehired the guy. He was an absolute boob @ Nebraska, played a major role in sinking their program. Very odd decision by the school.
The Pitt rivals board has been pretty hot with people talking about Chancellor Gallagher's involvement in the athletics program. Indications are that he is willing to take a more hands on approach and feels athletics is important to the school. With that said, he may take a more active role in hiring the new coach and not leave it up to Pederson even if Pederson is sticking around.

I don't know why Pitt re-hired Pederson, either, however, he was viewed as fairly successful in his first stint with Pitt. He made a lot of changes and I don't necessarily blame him for them but the truth of the matter is many have become unpopular over the years and been undone - script being the last that we'll likely see action on. Nordenberg was OK with where we were. I'm not sure Gallagher will be.

I'd like to see Pederson replaced, though. Enough's enough.
Pitt should be crawling on their hands and knees and begging Wanny to come back home. He had the 4 best years for Pitt in the last 30 years.

I think Pellini just accepted the Youngstown State job. No way they are payng him anything close to 3 mil. No doubt in my mind he would coach at Pitt.

I heard that was not official. Perhaps he figured out that Pittsburgh is pretty close to Ohio?
