Rocket Fans,

Your University of Toledo Alumni Association is in the process of planning a charter trip to the GoDaddy Bowl. There are many moving parts as we await airline bids and other details, however, this is what is tentatively planned:

- Round-trip charter air from Toledo Express leaving the morning of Friday, Jan. 2, returning immediately following the game.

- The package will include the charter, two nights at the Mobile Marriott, game ticket, mayor's luncheon featuring speaker Brett Favre, Mardi Gras parade and fireworks, tour and luncheon aboard the U.S.S. Alabama, private shuttles to all events, the street party, all gratuities, and the Alumni Association pregame party with the biggest assortment of fresh Gulf seafood and southern specialties you've ever seen.

We expect to announce the pricing for the charter this coming Monday, once all of the details have been finalized.

For those who are traveling to Mobile on their own, tickets for the Alumni Association's pregame party will also go on sale on Monday.

For those who were able to join us in Mobile ten years ago, I'm sure you'll agree that this is a top-notch bowl experience, one which you will always remember. I hope that you are able to join us for what will be an amazing start to 2015.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the Alumni Association office at 419.530.2586 (ALUM) or 800.235.6766.

Could make this doable.
Maybe... off the plane and straight into work...

Maybe you can get a fly-over and a parachute! Save a few minutes anyhow.

Gas prices down, hope that reflects in air and hotel costs.
Ballpark figure on the cost? Already booked my plane ticket, but have until about 9pm tonight to cancel it.
$1000? $1500? $2000? $2000+?
Hard to say at this point...The package 10 years ago was $999 based upon double occupancy. We have added the U.S.S. Alabama tour and luncheon with the other features staying the same. So far, the non-flight costs are fairly comparable (game ticket, hotel, hoodie, etc.) but the big question is the cost of the plane. Charter plane costs have risen greatly in that time. One thing working in our favor is that our bowl is one of the last and most of the traveling is done which could make for more competitive pricing. I'm hoping that we are able to keep it in the $1,100-$1,300 range tops, but without the results of the formal bidding process, it's hard to say for sure.

What I can tell you is that we are selling this package at cost and that the Alumni Association is covering the cost of the tent, heaters, lights, stage and sound system for the pregame event which alone is projected to be 4-5K.

Hope that helps,
Dan

Yeah, I'm guessing it's for the upper income crowd. That's a lot of stuff to do. For those that can afford it, beats trying to figure stuff to do in a strange town.
Mayors Lunchean $30 directly from GO Daddy site.

Unless there has been a change is plans, Joe Theismann will be speaking at the mayor's luncheon. Joe knows more about food than Brett Favre who knows more about jeans.

Thanks!
NewMex,

I can tell you that the bowl manual that we've been given says that the jeans salesman is the speaker at the mayor's luncheon.

Dan

I would be interested in opportunities for events even though I am driving down Jan 1.
The tour of the U.S.S. Alabama is awesome. I got to experience that when I went in 2005.
