We are seeing hundreds of posts on Twitter and Facebook saying there's no plane, yet we've been charged $3,000 for this damn thing. If we don't have visual evidence -- photo or video -- I say we burn AirSign.com to the damn ground. This is ridiculous. The problems we've had with this company since Friday would be comical, but now they seem to be 100 percent sabotage.
Wonder if they got $3,001 to not fly.
If you have been looking -- diligently -- for the plane and have not seen it -- or if you have seen it -- please call John Knox ASAP at 706-542-2118 and let him know. This is on his credit card and he arranged the flight. He's pissed. As am I, because I sent him a massive PayPal donation to help cover this.
I think the plane is being piloted by Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster...
Shouldn't there be a public site to check flight path or records? Does he know or was given an identification number for the plane?
I am way out in Inverness. I have looked several times anyway, but haven't seen anything yet. I paid too my friend and would like to know that they made the flight.
No flight number. No identification number. We provided them with a flight plan using their maps online. No one has seen the plane on that path, as far as we know. No one at airsign.com is answering phones or responding to our messages.
You would have to have tail number to track a plane. Even with that, a plane pulling a banner likely is not flying with an IFR flight plan. As such, it wouldn't be "squawking" on its transponder, which is how websites like FlightAware track aircraft. We won't be able to track this airplane....if it even exists...
(888) 645-3442 did you try this number. I just got off the phone with a guy there. Maybe not local but someone answered that number I just gave
Yeah they just got you for that little bit.
Any aircraft flying in Class C airspace (which is what BHM is designated as) will have to be in contact with Birmingham tower (Birmingham approach). I know, because my dad and I used to fly in Birmingham airspace several years ago. If you are a pilot in communication with the tower, then you are using your transponder to make contact. There should be a record of this flight somewhere.
Wonder Woman.

I looked out from St Vincent's downtown around 9am and again around 915am or so. Looked again closer to maybe 10am. Pretty good vantage of southside and saw no plane.
If a plane pulling a FreeUAB or a Fire Ray Watts banner flew over the UAB campus, but no one saw it or the banner, does it matter whether it was there or not? We still didn't get what was paid for. Tell John to contest the charges on his credit card immediately.
From the number of people who have reported looking and not seeing, I'm convinced this company doesn't own a map of the US, and that the pilot managed to fly due south from Atlanta and is now confusing the hell out of students at Mercer who are all looking up going, "Who the hell is Ray Watts and why does he need to be fired?"
Jaysus.
I left the meeting at 9 during the Senate executive session and didnt see anything. Came back at 9:30 and didnt see anything. Had to leave again at 10, and the only thing I saw flying was pigeons. Now Im home and , other than being invigorated by the outpouring of support for UAB athletics from many different factions at the meeting, I still havent seen a plane with a banner. I think the fine folks who made the arrangements for the flight were hood-winked ( sorta reminds me of what happened to our coach this year ).
Maybe it's in Tuscaloosa?
Or Huntsville.
