Apparently there were a couple "abuses". But Obama wants to portray this as standard operating procedure for the U.S. instead of some isolated situations. He wants us to look bad.

I don't know why it has to be made public anyway. Nothing good can come of it.

He's very good at doing/saying krap like this...He must really hate the USA, or is very anti-Caucasian....One thing is undeniable <---He has caused great division....guess he wants to repeat the Civil War....glad I do not work in the CIA.

A couple abuses? Try 8 years of systematic torture.

I have no problem with water boarding terrorists that have killed Americans and know about future plans to do it again. Especially since it works.
Obama is anti America period. He views America as the enemy.
Bad idea to release the report. Take the info, keep it internal, and adjust policies accordingly. No reason whatsoever to put the lives of our soldiers/diplomats overseas in more danger. Makes no sense.

Torturing led us to bin laden.

After seeing Mach's thread this morning, I now know why obama is putting millions of Americans all over the world on high alert due to releasing information that could put their lives at risk. It's because he wanted people to see that Dick Cheney lied about torture. This is more than pathetic. There are no words for it besides disgusting. Obama should be kicked out of America.

How?
Would you guys prefer he sweep it under the rug and not be honest and wait for an Edward Snowden to appear and expose all these abuses? Or would you rather the US gov't be open and forthright?

I know how I feel... let the info out in our own way, instead of waiting for the next leak.

Here's the problem. These things are abuses only by western standards. And quite frankly, only by the secular humanist wing of western standards.

If we had a Snowden-type disclosure, the typical Swede would say, "Oh, those terrible Americans." The typical Arab would look at it and think, "How bloody stupid. These weaklings are gnashing their teeth over whether waterboarding is torture or not. Let's lop off a few heads and show them what torture really is." And I do mean typical, in both places.

We're trying to come in after the fact and self-impose a moral standard that much of the world, including the part where the subject events are taking place, simply does not buy. What we need is worldwide bright-line agreement on where the line is, and then abide by that line going forward. What we have is an agreement that is subject to a wide range of interpretation, and we are seeking to impose ex post facto, an interpretation that most of the world does not agree with. And I'm fairly certain that if we expect the Arab world, and indeed most of the third world, to abide any agreement, then waterboarding is not going to be defined as torture.
All you folks who complain about the 'moral high ground' and 'freedom' with regard to NSA and FBI need to take a closer look at this. It not only endangers the lives of patriots abroad but incites unnecessarily the tensions between Americans and our enemies abroad and at home. Very dangerous IMO to make such a public spectacle over this.

Only reason to make it public is for political reasons. The admin is more concerned on how it can hurt domestic political opponents than if it may hurt Americans overseas.
The other question needs to be asked : What tangible benefit is it to release this report? A report, mind you, that was put together by staffers and NO live interviews

POTUS enjoys dividing Americans. He has blood on his hands, and never again will America elect anyone like Barack Hussein Obama..He is certifiable to deliberately place American lives at risk
