Good for him. He'd fallen out of favor a bit in a strong KC squad, so hopefully he'll get a chance to really contribute again now.
Well, upon taking a much needed break from reading about conference realignment (which usually makes me want to hang myself), I came across this little bright spot...C.J. scored his 3rd goal of the season in a Philly 3-nil win. Go get 'em C.J.

I caught the second half of the Union and United game last weekend. Sapong came in around the 70th. He seems to be making the most of his increased time on the field and it appears that moving to the Union was a great move. Hopefully the injuries and other events are in the past and he can continue to work his way into a leading role.
As a Sporting fan, I hate to see C.J. go but it was best for him and really SKC as well. He always seemed to be on the verge of breaking out and then would hit a funk and lose pitch time.
Union needs the help and lacks the roster depth of SKC so he will have more chances to play his way out of a funk than he could get in KC. Guy has a lot of upside potential.
@PCarrESPN
C.J. Sapong's 21-second goal is the 7th-fastest goal in @MLS history, & fastest MLS goal ever for @PhilaUnion.

It says George Mason at the bottom, but it says "College Experience: James Madison" at the top. Every January, the USMNT has Camp Cupcake, where some new players get a chance. Sapong played for the USMNT on January 21, 2012 and January 25, 2012 in friendlies. He hasn't played in a national team competition.
Obligatory thread bump when CJ scores. Didn't waste any time in this one, scored at 2'....3rd of the season

This whole play by C.J. was a beaut...

Right now he is on pace for 19-20 goals. Even if he doesn't keep that pace he is on track for a real break out year and should have a career high in goals (possibly by the all star break). This is awesome.
