But I really wanna friggin go....
I know. Me too...
I was just told to request off the 20th-23rd from work by my parents for my Christmas gift...I think I know what I'm getting ;-)

My logic, I have an 18yo son that didn't fall far from the tree... and he can do most of the driving!

I am happy for you if it happens, I know how bad you want to go. That would be a great gift.

If you are going to the game you need to apologize.

For what? I'd rather play Florida in Bham...but I'll go watch my Tigers play in Miami since thats where they were sent.

So much for rooting for freeloaders...how are your rich parents these days?
You could not ask for better gas prices if we see $2 per gallon as some predict.
Quick 'napkin' calculation:
-2000 miles round trip Memphis to Miami
-average 20 miles per gallon
-100 gallons at $2 = $200

Sounds tempting, until I consider the time involved.
Google maps estimates 15 hours (drive time only) one way.
So, that's over 30 hours behind the wheel, stops not included.
In my youth I would go for it, but at this point in my life I don't think I would try it.
Guess I'll buy a lottery ticket...
It's a terrible drive. Made it many times. Driving through Central Florida is as dismal as it gets. The wild fires on the side of the turnpike and plagues of huge flying insects that kamikaze your windshield keep things interesting though.
415 round trip from Nashville on American Airlines
Luckily, i'm in Boca once a month. Quick trip down for me.
Anyone know what hotel the team is staying at?
That's a loooooooooooooooooong drive. Did Orlando to Memphis once. Never again.
Drive down and then sleep in your car. Boom. No expensive flights or hotel charges.

Shower in one of the beach showers on Sobe or Key Biscayne.
It is basically a 1000 mile drive there. Central Florida does suck, lol.

I had a college buddy that lived a whole summer that way.

One option is to fly there and drive a rental car back, as I did on the UCLA trip. If you do that, use Hertz, because they don't have a "drop-off charge" for one-way rental. Saves you about 50%!!!

It is very important for as many of our fans to attend as possible (the Big 12 is watching). I can't afford it - I'm on a fixed income now, already spent a lot on the UCLA and New Orleans trips plus had to replace my heating/AC unit this Fall. Hang the cost - where there's a will, there's a way. 04-cheers
