It's official TXST will not be Bowling. I know I had lots of rants this week but the frustration was agonizing. I will pulling for each of the Sun Belt Teams. I hope you each mud stomp your opponent and pack the houses.

Nope, no bowl, no peace!, no bowl, no peace!

Not giving any of the bowls that passed on Texas State the satisfaction of my viewing eyeballs.

If only I had more faith in Larry Teis, then I would feel like he would be working hard to make this happen to Texas State in relation to the Sunbelt



But alas, feel like we have many years of going 8-4 and 9-3 with limited to no chances at a Bowl to come in the Belt...

Yep. With how ridiculously concentrated our bowl's are in one area, I feel like App and Texas State will be out of luck every time we're competing for bowls with the Gulf area schools.

As far as I'm concerned its all a moot point at this stage of the game. Its time to support our belt brothers in their games. I'll certainly be watching and rooting for them.

I am pretty disappointed that the other bowls passed us up but I feel like getting passed up by the Sun Belt bowls was a slap in the face, untill the Belt adds a bowl that is not geographically out of reach i officially want out of the Sun Belt #TogetherWeRiseUnlesssYouAreToFarAway

When do the announcements of all the non-playoff bowls get officially announced? That's all I really care about

Don't know how many times this can be said, they don't have control, the bowls do. Period. They have the power in selection. You can argue until your face is blue that 7-5 should get in before 6-6 like CUSA but in the end the bowls want to make money so they won't let that happen. The SBC was a one bowl league not long ago, so I doubt the league will start making it's own demands. At this point all they want is more bowls for any eligible team.

I never said the Sun Belt could do anything about it...
the Sun Belt is not an ideal fit for us geographically. therefore our biggest issue IS our conference home.

We need a bowl west of New Orleans... or we need to do our best lynn hickey/UTSA impersonation and sell ourselves to CUSA like we are the cure for cancer.

8-4 Trojans sat at home in 07...at the very least, there are more bowl opportunities now than there were back then. I truly empathize with txst, but your time will come, as have others in the SBC.

I know there's some form of rule in place about limiting how many bowl tie-ins a conference can have that's based on a rolling average of bowl eligible teams. How many years is that for? And, in this rather unique scenario, do Georgia Southern & App State count as bowl eligible teams? Or do we have 4 this season?

What bowl contracts are up in the next year/2 years/3 years? And does anyone know what the process is for conferences to be trying to get those contracts? I've been confused by this process.

I read something about us losing the NOLA bowl in a few years... Can anyone shed light on this?

I'm not sure whom the 10/12 takes, but I have a hard time seeing them take Rice. . .

We need a tie in to a bowl in Texas. Either San Antonio, Houston or Dallas. We need that exposure for our western members!

NMSU, along with chile and pecan growers in the Mesilla Valley are discussing on starting the Chile-Pecan Bowl. Be kind of like the potato bowl.
