He had 5 mil in his back pocket already and they hadn't even scratched the surface. This whole thing would be comical if it weren't so tragic in it's consequences
Can the decision be rescinded and get someone to start the healing process?

I wish. I don't think they expected the backlash they are getting though. This got big nationally quick, and several people have now indicated that this is about more than money on national television. Those old ******* may have finally done something that will get them in trouble because the state wint be the one handling it.
All Watts has to do is meet with the booster, city and county officials and sincerely apologize for the "mis-communication" get the donations all ironed out then rescind the decision. There by giving Coach Clark an extension and I guarantee most if not all the kids we have will stay.
Some of the staff have already taken new positions. One went to Troy and another, Aiken, to Clemson and not to mention players accepting offers. Time is of the essence
Even if Watts were to rescind the decision and allow us to field a football team the damage has already been done. We are going to have to rebuild from scratch.

That's better than nothing.

And Clark isn't gone yet. If he's the one rebuilding from scratch I think we're in good shape. Plus, if somehow this gets turned around, I think it's obvious there's support for capital improvements that will cement the team's status.
Can Watts rescind the decision to kill football and have it reversed or does it have to be voted on by the Board of Trustees. Although if this occurred I doubt the BOT would want more attention on them.

Well since the BOT wasn't the one to make the decision to kill football (but we know they were), why should they have to approve to reinstate it?
Watts knows that if he rescinds his decision, it will mean he was wrong.

His only outlet is to hope this blows over and try his best to influence people to get this stuff under control. However, that won't happen.

For sure. Some damage has been done now, but we could get on damage control immediately. We all know this isn't happening though.

This.

Not saying he may not have an opportunity somewhere else, but I bet he is seeing this as somewhat of a mission.

If we played Millsaps next year with Coach Clark as coach, I would go.
BTW, The article's title has been changed to:
"UAB booster Jimmy Filler says Ray Watts 'is not telling the truth"...
I didn't think it was possible for us to get football back so quickly, but then again the public outrage is much more intense than I thought. Then we need to offer Ray Watts a way out then. If we can get a no confidence vote against him, then perhaps we should email him encouraging him to do the right thing and meet with the boosters and reinstate football.

There maybe a little damage from all the shenanigans....but if we can keep Clark I and get the IPF started the kids will see the investment and this could be a distant memory.

Even with some miracle solution, this will never be a distant memory.

We will never forget, and we will never forgive.
