They chanted UAB in the background.
Showed a #freeuab sign prominently
wow. "There's something going on here behind the scenes. Soon it will all come out" - Lee Corso (paraphrased)

that was special with the Baylor fans chanting U-A-B !!!!
thank you Baylor fans. That was special.
They showed one #FreeUAB sign in the background.
Donors were willing to contribute.
Watts said he wish he could do it over and showed the players how much he cared.

Next time he would try and cry.
Or let the football team know the same way he let bowling and rifle know.

I knew when I heard he was addressing the football team in person that it was a tactical mistake. It was the right way to do it, but no way he would come out a winner.

He is still afraid he will see Tristan Henderson somewhere on campus.
Watts continues to propagate lies. Says he went to donors and asked and "no one was willing to commit any additional funds." Really? What about the UAB football foundation pledge of around $10 million? At least ESPN had Mr. Hire on there next who said he had not been asked. But if asked, WOULD HAVE given money.

If Watts had let everyone know he was serious about shutting the program down, I suspect you would have seen a tremendous amount of money come forward (even to exceed the $49 million over 5 years). Watts just didn't want to give it a chance.
He probably asked UAT boosters if they wanted to give to UAB & they said no so technically he's speaking the truth just not the whole truth

Funny. Just had the same thought. It would be rather easy to produce proof that he reached out to UAB supporters. Of course we know he didn't.
And no one is asking: "well, just who did you approach, Watts?"
Does Watts know any UaB boosters ?
