Its fun to start a rumor and see how far it goes.

Not starting a rumor, just read this article in a real newspaper and posted the link.
Based off the same source as the other thread. Not happening.
This looks like the same story as before. This all originated from the same place. It's really not something to get that excited about because it's no different than the other nonsense we've heard for most of the past 2 years.

Not saying it won't ever happen, but there isn't much to substantiate this specifically.
I thought the Hartford Courant was a better paper than that. SMH

I think the Courant reflects the mindset of UConn fans in general; hypersensitive to the possibility of further athletic status erosion.
What was reported on ESPN Radio was not a "rumor." The sport's journalist specicially stated he was told Memphis and Cincy were going to be invited to the Big 12. We can question the standing of the reporter, but what he reported was a fact. It's natural for other reporters to make inquiry of this news. The Uconn reporter probably has some news, especially considering all the talk about Uconn and the Big East.
So why does Memphis deserve a P5 invite? Makes no sense. Should go after UC and UCF

Its amazing how one story gets quoted everywhere.

Or one internet rumour. I'm pretty certain that internet rumour about the Big 12 having an automatic $2 million/school addition to their TV contract came from one poster on the UConn board who claimed to be a TV consultant. Yet a year or two ago, it was being posted as fact all over the internet.

You mad?02-13-banana
The Big 12 should go after Colorado state and New Mexico. But they will probably only do this after Texas go Indy/ACC like Notre Dame.

To be fair, this wasn't an internet rumor and at least came from an ESPN affiliated radio station. But I agree with you.

A reporter saying "he was told" something does not make it a fact....so it is a rumor.

Improving football (co champs of the AAC this year), solid basketball, big market, in the footprint. Makes sense to me if it happens

1. Memphis Basketball
2. Memphis Basketball
3. Memphis Basketball

4. Memphis BBQ

04-cheers
Only problem I see is that this is the ONLY paper that has it. Brett McMurphy is a absolute ass but he has every AAC move before anybody else and he hasnt mentioned it.

If true, I am happy for yall.

He wasn't reporting a fact. He was passing on a rumor. That's the difference between the "journalist" and you. He is just passing on rumors. You are starting them. Don't you have anything better to do? All the talk about "UConn and the Big East" also seems to come exclusively from you. You must be on line 24 hours a day spreading this nonsense.
