it made me wonder if we're playing our most effective players enough minutes. Mo State played their three most effective players nearly the entire game. We seem to try and play a lot of players a lot of minutes. It might help morale some, but is it the most effective way to win games. Of course if your evaluation process is not showing you your best players, that's a problem.

Based on last night's game, you could draw some conclusions that could help. Based on that game, I'll admit Mariek earned an increast in playing time. At least 20-25 minutes until he proves he can't handle it. I still think Devonte is our best point guard. He does things that Thomas can't do. His quickness leads to steals, and he had more rebounds last night than Woods and White combined. He didn't score much, but a true point guard doesn't have to if he can do all the other things well.

Although Dillard slightly outscored Reid last night, Reid had a much more productive game with rebounds and steals to make up for the three point scoring differential. I'd like to see Reid get the majority of playing time at that position. However there is a logjam there with Dillard, Reid and Josh. How do you keep an all conference selection off the court? After last night's game, I'd like to see Devonte, James R. Mariek, Roger and James W. get the majority of minutes. Let them play as much as you can as long as they're not in foul trouble. How you substitute the rest of the kids, I don't know. I'd like to see one game where that lineup got 30-35 minutes or more and see how it works out. Of course it would make some players unhappy, but hey. Isn't it about winning?04-cheers
