I watch the Finebaum show almost daily and as a rule I really like his content. That said, I think he still harbors distaste for all things not Tide related. He tries hard on this new SECN platform to be non-partisan, but Alabama Crimson Tide blood oozes out of him several times a day. Discussing coaches staying or leaving schools, he made the demeaning comment that Arkansas, Miss State, and Ole Miss will never reach the championship pinnacle, for obvious reasons.
Yesterday a Missouri caller pointed out that since joining the SEC, the Tigers have beaten 13 bowl eligible teams compared to Alabama's 12. While clearly admitting that Missouri was not as good as Alabama and likely wouldn't win this Saturday, the caller asked why Missouri was ranked 16th. Finebaum immediately made a comment about "if Missouri had a west division schedule, specifically Auburn's, they would be a .500 team. He asked the Missouri caller to pick the winner of this years scheduled Auburn games if Missouri had their schedule, then talked very rudely over the man as he tried to answer the question. He made the comment that Missouri would have lost to K State, Ole Miss, and Miss State... really? Didn't Arkansas shut out LSU and Ole Miss? Didn't the Rebels just beat the Bulldogs? The point here is that it was very easy to see that the question irritated Paul. He said all Missouri had to do to redeem themselves, and achieve respect, was to beat Alabama. We played the SEC schedule handed to us and we are going to Atlanta... again. Alabama needs to win for the SEC to get into the final four. I get that. When asked if Missouri had a chance with a win Saturday, Finebaum made the comment " please do not make me laugh". So much for supporting the SEC no matter what... Missouri has had the Indiana game rubbed in our faces for weeks now. At least it was not Western Carolina or the Citadel. Other schools have struggled this year, including Alabama. That just happens. Merry Christmas everyone!04-cheers

I hope the SEC has a good game this week above all.
The fact the Finebaum's show is broadcasted outside of the SEC is a pox on all of our houses.
Finebum is the worst person to be the voice of the SEC. He is an Alabama homer and never gives anyone else any credit.
What more can be asked of a team than to beat the teams on their schedule, particularly within their conference where they have no say on who they'll play?
Paul Finebaum is what every red neck who never attended the University of Alabama should hate. He is a Tennessee graduate "a school they profess is an important rival" (mostly because it gives them an easier guaranteed East division opponent annually). And as for the those who did attend Alabama his constant need to muckrake among the stereotypical Jerry Springer audience types should be offensive.

Mike Slive claims he wants to elevate the SEC's image outside of the South by emphasizing research and educational credentials of our schools, in other words by showcasing some of the highbrow innovations and research conducted within the conference. And then he goes and puts this totally biased jerk on for 4 hours and allows him to put all normal SEC fans on hold, to be dismissive of their questions, only to allow Phyllis from Mulga, Charles from Reeltown, and other of his former radio show cronies to speed dial in to make a mockery of the alumni that have graduated from our 14 schools. His Big 10 assistant on the show gets to smirk and make disparaging remarks about the callers, as if there aren't those of the same ilk in all regions of the country.

Finebaum is not objective, does not represent the 14 schools with class, panders to the lowest and most vile elements of our society, directly contributed to Harvey Updikes desire to poison the Toomer's Corner Oaks at Auburn by giving that imbecile his 15 minutes of fame, and in my opinion is the biggest total fail the SEC has on its new network.

I did tune it to watch the first couple of shows to see if he would change his spots, he has not. When I heard he was out sick and that Tony Barnhardt would host the show for a day, I tuned in and was delighted to hear an intelligent, well informed follower of all sports Southeastern actually take calls and answer questions and engage the callers with respect.

I couldn't help but think how much better we would all be if Tony was the face of the SEC instead of the leering, buzzard like, tumble bug that we have.

He can't even find it in his heart to speak warmly of Tennessee.

I hope his first season on the SECN is his last. But I challenge you guys who equally dislike what he is doing to write to both ESPN and more importantly the conference office demanding he be replaced with somebody that represents our conference and its alumni with dignity and intelligence.
While I will not deny that Finebaum is biased, because he most certainly is.... Missouri lost to Indiana. Wait, didn't every single SEC East team lose all of their P5 non-conference games? The SEC East doesn't have the same challenge as the West this year. It's weak.
Finebaum called the Michigan administration "idiots" today, and said who "cares about TCU, other than maybe three cows in Fort Worth". This stuff does not help the SECN gain viewership in areas outside of the SEC. TV and radio commentators just cannot mock and call people names on the air like this. He should not be allowed to get away with it either. He complained about callers talking over him, but he is the worst ever at talking over callers. Pretty much had it with him. I give it my best shot but I cannot stomach him anymore. Most of the folks who call are complete morons anyway, and make us all look like we have IQs of 45 as SEC fans. Not suitable as a national show... especially a daily four hour dose of it.

And they beat Arkansas, who shut out Ole Miss, who beat Alabama. We all have bad games. At least Indiana is FBS. That said, my issues are not with Alabama. They are with demeaning comments about other schools, coaches, and callers he does not agree with. As for Mizzou, I disagree with any SEC school sitting as a division champion at 10-2, and being ranked #16. I would love to see TCU, Baylor, or other top ten schools make a little run through the SEC....east or west.

UGA beat Clemson this year.

Tony briefly had a radio show in Atlanta with Wes Durham and though brief, was utterly enjoyable. I have no idea why ESPN felt Finebaum was the individual to showcase the SEC. Colin Cowherd does a better job representing the SEC in my opinion.

I am hoping the SECN is trying to just fill time slots on the new network. I remember ESPN being like this when they were birthed. They replayed the Rose Bowl like eight times in January.
