Maybe CJF is going to coach basketball as well…….I would bet we would be much better.
Sorry, guys.
It was funnier before. Ha Ha.

I'm guessing the word "Fuente" in the title gave most people a clue.

I didn't have his name in the original post. I edited it later. I didn't mean to cause stir although it was pretty funny.

At first his name wasn't IN the title..... Later, when people started to complain and/or comment that they had opened this thread in error, he decided it would be more polite to add Fuente's name to the thread.

Per the bolded, please explain. Us so called football types also happen to buy basketball season tix along with our season football tix and support Tiger basketball with great passion. It's just a shame our basketball coach can't do in 6 years what our football coach has done in 3 in a much tougher job. And for the record, I for one, as you said, am not banging my chest. It makes me sick and disgusted to see our proud basketball program turn into the train wreck that it has become under Pastner.

...The Commercial Appeal reports Memphis is in the final stages of the renegotiation process, and the timing of it all should not be overlooked. With job openings at Michigan and Nebraska and a coaching search already aggressively underway at Florida, Fuente is an attractive coaching option. If you can win at Memphis, let alone win at least a share of the conference championship, bigger programs with deeper pockets are going to take notice.

If Fuente is renegotiating with Memphis now, then it could be a sign that Fuente is happy where he is, at least for now. Fuente is in the third year of his contract at Memphis. He took over a program that had won just two games before his first season, and he quickly doubled that win total in his first season. Fuente’s Tigers won just three games in his second season, but the building blocks were put in place for a promising 2014 season. Memphis went 9-3 this season and clinched at least a share of the AAC title and is going to a bowl game for the first time since 2008.
Please get this done! I'm already tired of hearing his name being brought up for coaching vacancies.
