Like a number of us who post here, I no longer live in Birmingham. I live nowhere close. While all this was going down, the most I could do was send e-mails that I'm sure nobody looked at and leave messages that I'm sure nobody listened to.

But you guys brought it, and I want to thank you. You rallied, you marched, you protested, you chanted, you were seen and you were heard, and I truly appreciate it. Thanks for fighting against this in a way that I could not. Thanks for being ever faithful and ever loyal to my beloved alma mater. And thanks in advance because I know you won't stop now.

I agree.

I attended as many protests as I could and I was really proud of the turn out and support. I'm just a regular student so I actually don't personally know anyone here on the boards, but I saw alumni, players, and former players alike take the time to say how important this was to them. I'd like to take this time to say thanks as well to everyone that showed up, and everyone that helped from afar, too.
I'll write more when I'm calmer, but I stood in that exit line and did what Mr. Ray Watts did not have the moral courage to do: I looked every player in the eye and either thanked him or apologized.

Many cried, but they did not curse, they did not rant, they did not embarass themselves or UAB in the slightest fashion. You would have been prouder of them today than after any football game.

Every one of them deserves better than this.
We did no more than each of you would have done if you had the opportunity; I wouldn't have missed it for the world. The opportunity to literally scream in Watts' ear from a foot away while he turned a bight shade of crimson was priceless.
Also ditto what Craig said.
I agree, and thanks 58-56 for doing that for our guys.

Merely showing his true color.
