But getting torn into by WMU, and BSU doesnt give BG any thing good. The chance to play in the MACC may seem good for a week but once they lose they will be viewed as the 4th or 5th best team in the MAC. Toledo earned rights to MAC West champs, and guaranteed bragging rights over all but one team in the MAC (NIU).

I think that the only difference in our thoughts is how we view "deserved". There is no doubt that both UT and WMU have a better MAC resume than BG and BG is simply lucky to play in a weak division. Yet according to the conference rules which everyone knows in advance, BG and NIU did what was required to gain entry into the championship game and UT and WMU did not. You consider "deserved" from the former point of view and I view it from the latter POV and that is the difference.

Also remember BG was a very big underdog last year, yet they are the current reigning MAC Champs----at least until Friday night.
We tied the MAC West. We lost on a tie breaker or technicality.

---- I was in Dekalb... We lost to NIU. Plain and simple. Wasn't a tiebreaker loss or technicality. The 7-1 Mac runs continue......

I was there also... I've been there since 2009. People were at the CMU vs. NIU game, and CMU won plain and simple.
Why do you think we are co-champions? Why was Toledo the #1 overall seed in basketball last season? We won the tie breaker! Tied with WMU in bball and held the tie-breaker. Same as in 2011 when WMU held the tie breaker over Toledo.

NIU had a worse loss than Toledo did in the conference. They caught us at a good time and beat us by 3 on their home field. It sucks, but oh well. Good for them. That doesn't change the fact that Toledo and NIU both deserve to represent the west, but NIU is the representative.
BG did what they had to do. We didn't. Even the most delusional Falcon fan would agree they would have been fourth at best in the West. But they aren't in the West and they have positioned themselves to catch lightening in a bottle again. UT did not do what we needed to do.

Their record is product of an awful division and I hope they get showed up in Detroit because they don't deserve sniff of the MAC Championship trophy this season.
NIU went 4-0 with @BSU, Toledo, @OU, and @WMU on their schedule in November. If they blow another chance in Detroit I will not be a happy camper.

We had shots at NIU five years in a row and came up short. I think it's time that we all just concede they are a better team and program than the Rockets. We don't deserve anything relative to NIU except maybe to start referring to them as "daddy."

Asking for a do-over reminds me of this...

This.

We did suffer from the unfortunate loss of two very important players, from the week before. Of course we'll never know how that would have mattered so no sour grapes.

Despite looking rather unimpressive in our game, NIU won the games that mattered.

Was not confident in a victory against BG in the indoor confines of Ford Field.

They kick our butt if their QB doesn't overthrow 6 wide open deep passes that each would have gone for TD's.
I think the outdoor elements played a role in that.

I don't buy that at all. It's like saying Hunt would have rushed for 6 touchdowns if the lineman had got to the defensive guy that made the tackle a half second sooner. Overthrowing a guy with the wind at your back happens all the time. He was just as likely to underthrow it by taking too much off it to account for the wind. If it were just as easy as counting a touchdown every time someone got a half step on the defense and was subsequently overthrown - then the scores would be in triple digits.

I think my point is not being fully appreciated.
Toledo did not look so much better than BG for me to make any definitive statement about how much better we are than them.
In fact, a lot of fans (including me) stayed until the final drive due to the fact UT could not put BGSU away.
I felt incredibly fortunate to win against the defending champs and a foe every bit our equal.

And Moto, the BGSU receivers had 3 steps on our defenders. And those bad throws, whatever the reason, the weather or the QB just having a bad day, spared Hunt from having to rush for 500 yards instead of 300.

Still played without MAC MVP Mancz, ALL-MAC DB Jordan Haden and QB Woodside only two weeks off the Kent State injury.
