I guess folks in Birmingham do blame the University of Alabama for the possible demise of their football program. They are rallying to separate from the UA system. I wonder if we should join them.
UAB became bowl eligible on Saturday. They have a new coach that seemingly turned the program around in one season. On one hand, I have a feeling this isn't over, although on the other I wonder if it is too little too late.
Apparrently the previous coach was Bear Bryant jr buddy & got the Jimbo Fisher contract held up according to comments from ESPN story I saw. This guy came in to clean up "mess" but now it may turn into funeral instead.
I wish UALR went back to LRU

I saw some anger, on the internet, directed at Bear Bryant, Jr. and the University of Alabama. Didn't get, or understand, the whole story.
I think LRU was private. Would like to become a separate state university like ASU, UCA, Arkansas Tech, etc.
Is there any reason we can't?

Politics, money, and a bunch of other things- although the first 2 are likely big enough that it will never happen.
