I thought it would be over when they were denied the first time...

there is an appeal process just like there is in the NFL.

So, you're appeal is going to be denied, and then two days before the New Orleans Bowl an Independent arbitrator is going to declare you eligible?

the NO bowl is being played in 2 days?

No, you're appeal now is denied, and then the ruling will be changed 2 weeks from now when you cant do anything about it.
I'm gonna say it... The only thing funnier than them getting the waiver approved (and the ensuing fallout) would be the immediate change of the rules AFTER the season.

I think that fallout might be even more EPIC than the first scenario.
I'm just giving yall a hard time, If TXST would have already secured their bowl I would be rooting for yall to win your appeal because I believe your team would represent the Sun Belt very well in a bowl. I don't think people are rooting against your team right now because they think you suck or hate your fans but the fact you are trying to take a bowl game away from someone in your transition year after agreeing you would be ineligible, no matter your record, before the season started. I never understood why people take things so personally on this board it is supposed to be for fun. Hell when I signed up I just used my old gamer tag that I used to scare away asians thinking noone would ever get butt hurt from a guy calling himself Godzilla. Georgia Southern fans need to just chill and take this board's smack talk with a grain of salt.

Thank you for the well wishes. Our restrictions end 12/31.
I suppose I'm being naive, but I don't think there'd be a ton of fallout, really. I don't even expect that many people to be mad when we get denied.

Actually July 1, 2015.
I read where Benson said that if GS wins the appeal then they should be last in the bowl pecking order. That seems like BS. If they win the appeal then let them go first.

I'm just ready for this to be decided already so we can all move on. I feel TXST has a 50-50 shot at on of the three bowls as it is. GS winning the appeal would bump that down a lot. But the odds of an Armed Forces type bowl won't be affected.

I don't believe he's commented about us winning the appeal.

Putting us at the end of the pecking order was if we became eligible through the stipulation that there weren't enough bowl eligible teams. In that case, you have to exhaust the teams that are eligible before getting to where we would have come in at 4 or 5 on that list of stipulations. In that case I didn't disagree at all.

Gotcha. I thought it seemed weird.

They should not win the appeal. But if they did, they should be treated as Sun Belt champions and accomodated FIRST just as the bylaws say they should be treated. As we said last year....the bylaws are not guidelines.
Anyone who says he would not want the same thing that Ga. Southern fans want if he were in our situation is either being dishonest or doesn't care about the players on his team!

Our players earned the right to go to a bowl game more than any other players in the Sun Belt! NO BRAG JUST FACT!

And to be denied that opportunity because of some asinine rule that makes no sense is unconscionable!

As I understand the process we have every right and I submit a duty to our players to request a waiver to the rule!

If denied of course we will not like it but will respect the decision! What else do you expect us to do? Act like a number of you on here are acting? I don't think so!

I agree that they should be treated as champions if they win the appeal. NO Bowl has first pick this year.. so... would GaSo end up in Mobile or Montgomery? Because it won't be New Orleans.

I think we all agree why GS is doing it, we are just annoyed that it's delayed everything. Teams and fans want to be able to get tickets, plan trips, and prepare for the game. Two of the bowls are only 18 days away.

If my concern were for the team to get post-season every year I wouldn't break eggs and make the FBS omelette.

umm.... we submitted a waiver, which was denied. We appealed, and are supposed to hear a decision by 5pm today.....

Pretty sure he's alluding to the fact that the Ray Rice nonsense changed direction in Rice's favor, but only after so much time has elapsed that his season is done anyways.
