Ohio St lost their QB so it would have been FSU, Oregon TCU and Baylor. But bama has came back. So does not matter.
Bama does still have to beat Mizzou. And while it is likely that Mizzou gets steamrolled, stranger things have happened.

Doesn't matter if Ohio State lost their QB, they beat Wisconsin, they are likely in the playoff. And deservedly so. Can you imagine if Bama lost Simms in preseason and then had to play Georgia with their third string QB?!!
The Winstons still need to beat GTech.
Alabama needs to beat Mizzou.
Oregon needs to beat Arizona.
Baylor needs a win over KState.
Etc...

Your obsession with all things SEC is bordering on hysteria.

IF ostate beats Wisconsin how would they "deserve" to be in the playoff? Because they won a weak b10?

Yet you consistently come over to this board to defend that conference.

So, one could say "Your obsession with defending all things SEC is bordering on hysteria."

Because they would have beat 8 bowl teams with two wins against teams that will be ranked in the top 10 of the poll. And a team that wins their conference championship game is better than a team that is tied for their conference championship, imo.
Bama has only beat one team with less than 4 losses this season. And yet they somehow "deserve" to be ranked #1. Their biggest win was against... Moo State, who just got beat by 14 against ole miss, who just lost 3 games in a row...
I think the league got the reputation that they were down in week two and never recovered. The $EC has the reputation that they are dominant and will never lose it. Bama gave up 44 to Auburn?!!! They are 2-1 against ranked teams, that's IF Auburn is still ranked. If not they are 1-1.
Spin spin spin.

LSU is really good. Auburn is really good, Moo is really good. Watch the games. At this point Alabama is deserving...that four loss LSU team beat the above mentioned Wisconsin.

Bama, Winston, Oregon I believe are correctly in with a win. Baylor and TCU would be next...then the rest.

Not sure an Alabama win of any kind, offensive, high scoring or whatever, over Auburn, should be nit picked by a fan of a school that barely beat a still down Florida team, let alone struggled mightily to beat powerhouses Miami, NCState and Boston College. The key is...whether unimpressively, luckily or whatever, the Winston's did win those games and deserve credit for that...

Teams are good or not. Records have less to do with that. Bama has done well and still has to get through Duke, er Mizzou.
Ah, Mizzou the team that lost to Big 10 doormat Indiana.

LSU did beat Wisky, but Gordon for Wisk missed the entire 2nd half. When he was in, LSU was getting dominated. I imagine the same "excuse" as you will likely reference it, would be bandied about if Prescott or the Bama WR missed a large part of a game.

Good thing is, some team will have to prove itself twice, not just in an arbitrary 1 vs. 2 that always didn't put the two best teams in the title game.

the SEC is down this year, no doubt about it. We shoulda all known that when miss and miss state were considered legitimate contenders.

the georgia tech win over georgia was really shocking. georgia is a bipolar team. gonna be interesting to see what happens with tech.

bama let au score 44 points on them, how are they a top 4 team.

ohio state lost to a bad vatech team. but i think they would kill baylor or tcu.

fsu was a play away from losing to a bad notre dame team.

its a weird year.
Screw the SEC! Bootlickers!

Yes. I really wish it were an eight team playoff. There is still too much debate with 4/5/6 at least 9/10 don't have as much of a case if they aren't 8.

People are still upset about who is left out of the NCAA tourney and there are 68 teams there...Everyone will never be happy

True, but the 65th team doesn't truly have championship aspirations. PLUS, that 65th team is actually better than that due to the autobids that are allowed.

For the football playoff, the arguments are too close at 4/5/6 because at least one of the P5 champions will always be excluded. At eight, that won't likely be an issue.

True you give 5 bids to conference champions 2 at larges and one to the Non-P5 conferences (possible play in game here)
Would be interesting.

If the favorites all win:

Florida State ACC champ
Alabama SEC champ
Wisconsin B10 champ
Oregon P12 champ
Baylor B12 champ
Boise State Top G5

The other two would be- if all the favorites win?

TCU at 11-1 for sure
Then...
10-2 Mississippi State
11-2 Ohio State off a title game loss?
10-3 Mizzou off a title game loss?
10-3 Arizona off a title game loss?
10-3 GTech off atitle game loss?

Would idle Moo benefit from not playing the title game and getting an additional loss? Should the title game losers, save a blowout loss, be treated as they were BEFORE the title game- that would seem more fair...maybe. If so it would be Ohio State

1 Alabama
8 Boise State
4 Baylor
5 Wisconsin (not TCU avoid first round conference rematch- adjust seeds like in basketball)
3 FSU
6 TCU
2 Oregon
7 Ohio State

Moo, Mizzou, GTech, Arizona just miss- in this scenario would have to live with it.

Not bad...and I agree, coming soon. And yes...enough.

You ain't a carpetbagger are you?
Born and raised in MEMPHIS!!!!

Sick of the $EC and all the incredible amounts of spoonfed BS that is layered upon them year after year!!!
Having to listen to Gary and Verne about kills me and if I wasn't really hoping Mizzou would TOTALLY screw the $EC, I would rather watch the Trezvant game! They have to be the worst shills I have ever heard. Just pencil Alabama into the Super Bowl since the NCAA Playoff is a foregone conclusion in their minds 03-puke

You aren't an $EC Bootlicker are you?! 03-shhhh
