I have a bad feeling...
We made it past Black Friday though.
They day is not over 05-stirthepot
Come on BTR! We need good karma! We know Watts is reevaluating this decision and he is getting information and his people are asking a lot of questions (not athletic department). We are not dead, and if we win tomorrow, on my goodness does it create a new dynamic.
What do you mean "not athletic department"? Is he not talking to them or are they just sitting by idly? Or both?

Especially from someone who is in the missionary business.

The coaches of women sports are not the only ones who do not have confidence. If Watts is going to live in the bullseye of the unholy three, he has to KNOW we can control costs in UAB Athletics (i.e. maintain subsidies at current level while having non-university funds for capital). In my opinion, based on a lot of information, with the outpouring of support, he is reconsidering. Do we have enough to cross the goal line? We will know soon!

They have cobbled together a pretty good sum of outside funds in a hurry. They haven't really had a chance to even organize any fundraising. If given the chance we can do this right
"non-university funds for capital" means booster donations, right? Well, isn't that what the Football Foundation has been promising since this whole thing started?
Yes but they told the FF thanks but no thanks. We cant accept anything until after the study. Then they accept the soccer donation.

I'm happy for the soccer team, but the timing of that announcement was BRUTAL!

Agree. This was when it REALLY hit me that they were indeed planning on dropping football. When the $$ from the football foundation was denied but then the soccer donation was accepted, that to me said that football was not planning on being here.
When did they deny the foundations money? I haven't seen anywhere where they actually denied their potential funding formally.
I was written in one of the articles. I don't remember which one. Also they told me it was denied.

Filler said it was turned down in an interview. UAB isn't going to announce that they didn't accept a donation, there won't be a press release from the AD saying as such.
Filler said IPF plan with the City was denied. Coach said the practice turf was denied.

If or when we survive this, Watts will need the Foundation. They are rethinking this partnership because of the outpouring of support from civic leaders, big-time donors and fans.

We should know in the next 24 to 72 hours.

What I can control today is going to Hattiesburg and cheering for my Blazers!

That's what scumbags do, and anyone after all of these "coincidences" think that it's still "bad timing" against UAB, you can sell electric blankets to penguins...
