We've dealt with this before... 2006(?) ECU @ NCSU with Chuck The Chest exiting stage left....
The report is that he will be dismissed this weekend.
Replacement?
Teams moving up to the AAC are not messing around. SMU is spending big money for a new coach, and now Tulsa getting rid of their coach after two sub-par seasons. This is going to be a very tough conference to win.
Before you celebrate, wait to see who they hire. That last hire had me really shaking my head. Any word on possible replacements yet?
Congrats panic
Thanks Buddy.

You can’t imagine all the times that I tried
To uncover the source of the tears that you cried
Though I doubt you could land him, If I were Tulsa Id reach out to Troy Calhoun. He has done great work with Air Force. I believe Blankenship and Calhoun both make about $1 million. If Tulsa got real serious about their coaching search, they may be able to entice him.... but he does love it there.

Dan McCarney at North Texas is also a good choice. Most of his staff was at USF during our better days.
Butch Davis is apparently very interested.

That would be all sorts of bad ass

Be absolutely stunned if Calhoun left AIr force for a program that does not or will ever invest in athletics. Sad, but true. Dan McCarney did well at Iowa st for a good 12 to 15 years taking them to bowls many times during the original and brutal big 12. Not to mention his 00C wins vs iowa on multiple occasions. He's a bit old, but has a track record, a decent name and he's on overall good man. That's who I'd be going after...

Your kidding right?
He won a national championship and dominated at UNC.

He might've cheated.

But he won.

Frank Haith cheated and we hired him.

What about bringing Kragthorpe back? Tulsa hated to see him go...
I believe Kragthorpe has Parkinsons disease.

"Dominated" at UNC? Maybe on the recruiting trail, but certainly not in the W column.

Maybe they could get Butch and then get Black Santa at a discount rate.

That's a great way to improve your program, hire a cheater!
Butch Davis to Tulsa would be huge for their program and this league, if it happened... And all of sudden would get very interesting in the AAC West.
