That "Coaching situation brewing at Troy and UAB. Bill Clark could well be moving on from the mess at UAB for Troy. No faith in administration."

I have no faith in the administration either. Sad day
Nobody has any faith in this administration, and for a good reason!
Don't want to see things like this happen for yall..

But I would be jumping up and down in excitement of we hire Clark....

I still think Troy wants someone else tho.
I think they'd love Clark. I still think the report is speculation.
Wouldn't surprise me, but I never heard of this guy or his website before today.

I hadn't either. Initially, I didn't think Clark would leave UAB for Troy, but as this fiasco has went on and on, I believe it's a serious possibility that he goes. While the UAB administration has said nothing, the silence has said much.

since the start, I've felt like that was the plan. i don't think they had any intention of killing the program...just running off clark and killing recruiting

i hope the plan fails
Clark (and all of us) will know where we stand early next week. If it's not the outcome we are hoping for, I'm sure Troy has offered him and he will accept. If an extension is given, he'll take it here.

I hope you're wrong because if Troy has offered him, that means he (or his agent) have been talking to them. If he (or his agent) have exchanged a single word with any other school, I would lose much, much respect for him.
I wouldn't. I'd be looking in his situation. This is his career an livelihood on the line.
Troy hasn't offered Clark anything.

He would be stupid not to prepare given the complete lack of support and honor shown by our university

If my employer were treating me the way that UAB is Clark, and my competitors were making offers to hire me away, at the very least I would listen. What, exactly, has UAB done to inspire loyalty to it over to his family and his career?

This man has been lied to and his trust abused. I would not blame him a bit for taking whatever job offer looks best to him if UAB does not offer firm assurances and an extension to him.

For you #UAB folks out there, this isn't about raise/extension for Clark. This is about football after 2017. Long term future of program.

He's a hot commodity. There will be time for listening to offers when the season is over. In the meantime, what you and the others who disagree with me are forgetting are those 85 pairs of eyes that are looking back at him every day and expect him to be loyal to them. Anyway, I think this is all a moot point because I sincerely doubt that he's had any contact with any other school.
I doubt he has. I'm sure his agent is fielding all sorts of calls. He wants to stay here if the administration will do right by him.

We'll see soon enough, anything more than that is message board speculation.
It is probably to prevent "tampering" that the NCAA rules don't let a school hire coaches during the season. They can FIRE them at will, but they always name an "interim coach" for the duration of the season. Now IF UAB does not get a bowl invitation, the season is over and all limits are off. With the "Study" being announced and UAB's plans for the future of its football program OFFICIALLY settled, the coaches can make whatever decisions their career interests require.

If FBHC Clark and staff bolt for another job, I don't like UAB's chances of doing as well in the next hiring round since the stench of this disaster will hang over the program for quite a while.
I won't blame Clark one bit for leaving. The blame would be on Mackin and Watts! However... I hope he stays!
This situation is F'd up that if the worst fears are realized, the students, faculty, boosters and fans should literally be in front of the Bart with torches and pitchforks. Willing to use them. I know y'all understand how F'd it is but really, from the outside (and I'm not completely an outsider) looking in, I can't think any other situation like this in my sports memory. If this isn't an Outside the Lines or 30 for 30, I don't know what is.
