My family is conservative politically, except for my adult daughter. At dinner yesterday, she unfortunately talked about Ferguson like they do at MSNBC. It didn't go over well.

Of course I love her, but it was a bit disappointing. My son (like me) laughs at MSNBC. His favorite character is Al Sharpton.
One thing I learned was that there was two times we didn't talk politics at a family outing... Thanksgiving and Christmas. Any other time, it was okay to discuss anything. Those two days.... Nope, no politico talk
I'm sure many families across the country must have talked and laughed about Ferguson around the thanksgiving table. Truly sad.

For Ferguson, yes.
My family is liberal. I'm the only conservative. Lots of tense discussions.
I tend to not discuss politics with family members.

Yesterday was politics free.
Politics is a hobby for me. It rarely ever comes up at family gatherings.

No, we don't talk politics at our dinners like that. We eat turkey and then watch and talk football while the women look at the Black Friday ads.
I was relaxing in the afternoon with a full belly. Decided to make a fire in the home I'm paying for. I didn't influence my neighbors or family members to burn anything down like some crazy from the state of Missouri

You can't be conservative, you make too much sense.

You're a liberal. In a hypothetical election between Reagan (more freedom) and FDR (more government), you'd go with FDR.
Why would you want to talk about politics on a family holiday?

Yes, in the Spin Room I am considered a liberal.
It doesn't take a lot to get labelled a liberal in the Spin Room if you're honest.

Yep. Smaug, Owl and SMN are labelled as liberals too.
Reminds me of this situation (I don't know why) ... a friend of mine moved from Atlanta to Dallas in the 11th grade. When he got to Texas, he was called a "damn Yankee". Evidently, if you're not from Texas, you're a Yankee.
