Headed into the final couple weeks, here's where some of the "experts" are projecting UC :

Fox Sports : Birmingham vs. Tennessee
SB Nation : Military vs. Virginia Tech
SI : St . Pete vs. NC State
ESPN (2 experts): Miami Beach vs. BYU and St. Pete vs. NC State
Yahoo sports : Miami Beach vs. BYU
CBS Sports : Birmingham vs. South Carolina

If you had to choose from that list , which would you like to see happen?

I guess for destination / opponent the best combo is miami beach vs. BYU.
Going up against Butch would be fun but Birmingham 03-puke
Annapolis and the Military Bowl would be closer for fans. But the weather may be dicey and V. Tech 03-puke
Miami Beach vs. BYU
Might be fun to see the Bearcats take down VT in Annapolis after the Hokies humbled our neighbors up north earlier in the season. That loss will likely keep the Buckeyes out of the playoff.

Would UC beat VT? They just lost in double overtime 6-3 to a 3 win Wake Forest team so I like our chances.
The Miami Beach Bowl day/time sucks...pass
Tenn or South Carolina - everyone else is a rerun.
Say what you will about the "where" we're playing, the "who" we're playing is pretty nice...from a name perspective at least.

Prefer Annapolis and would go. Would go to Birmingham but hold my nose. The things good about BHam were we won and weather was good until 4th Qrt. Can not make Miami or St. Pete because of closeness to Christmas.

Along these lines...

Give me the best "name" school and let's beat 'em. If we finished with 8 straight wins - including one over South Carolina - I think we'd get some love in next year's preseason poll.
I'd like to see them play VT in the Military.

Agree. Bowl situation looking better than we feared.
Also keep in mind with regard to the above projections, Virginia Tech (vs. Virginia) and Tennessee vs. (Vandy) need to win their final game to become bowl eligible
day and slot are important..beating a p5 is great but if nobody watches it you lose some impact
I don't see how playing BYU in a bowl helps us. They are a great program, better than at least half the P5 programs... but a win over a P5 will be more impactful. Of those, I would take a game against Tennessee or South Carolina. A bowl win over an SEC school will look very good.

UC is the ONLY school in Ohio with a win against an SEC team in a bowl game. 04-cheers

didnt to$u beat Arkansas during the tattoo scandal?
The bigger the name (opponent) the better. So I'd say SC or Tenn.

The thought of a Steve Spurrier offense with several weeks to prepare, going against this defense, kind of scares me.

At least with Butch, you know he will give you a couple of "WTF?" in game coaching decisions.
would love to beat Lyle

What if you lose the game? When we lost to Tenn the last time, there was talk that a top tier BE team could not compete with even a bottom of the barrel SEC team. Losing to a mediocre UNC team last year did not help either.

The win was vacated.

I've always been a firm believer of the old saying "To BE the man, you gotta BEAT the man". If they can't beat a bottom of the barrel SEC team, then maybe they don't belong. It would be nice to show people that if they got into a P5 conference they can compete. Not be just another UK.
