He just finished. He never really talked about the iron bowl. Entire segment was about UAB

He basically talked non stop about UAB. He presented all the facts on why keeping football is the right idea and all the JOX guys pretty much just agreed with him the whole time he spoke. He spoke about the undergrad side of things as well and thought that some people on the board are just trying to turn UAB into a glorified extension center. One of the JOX guys and Walt both said they couldn't understand why dropping football was even being considered.
Maddox did a great job pointing out the fact this isn't just about football and how much this will hurt UAB undergraduate growth. Talked about UAB's potential and how 40+ other FBS teams have lower attendance than UAB and aren't discussing whether they should continue football. Pointed out the incorrect assumption from some that doing away with football helps basketball since UAB would lose conference affiliation.

He has my vote in 4 years, if I'm still around to vote then. But, we're stuck with "Pa Kettle" (bentley) for the time being.
What a great thing to have him on our side . The segment was to discuss the economic impact of the IRON BOWL and he literally talked about UAB the entire time.
Rick Horrow was on this morning, about the 5 minute mark of his segment the talk turned to UAB in a somewhat favorable way
