Good piece. I'm a Blazer first, but still love Auburn due to my years there. This shows that yes, you can pull for UAB and another school or your school and UAB for the non-Blazer alumni.

Agreed. I wish a dual UAB/Bama fan would write something similiar. It does NOT have to be a UAB vs. Bama battle, this battle is over equal representation on the BOT and the failure of Watts and others in fulfilling their fiduciary duties to UAB.

But if you notice, the vaaaaaaaaaast majority of "shut it down" comments have come from the Bammers.

Yep. For the most part, I've always considered Auburn fans to be friends of UAB. At yesterday's game, there was a lady wearing an Auburn cap sitting beside me and she was cheering louder and more enthusiastic than anyone in the stadium.

Auburn fans have more respect and empathy for our plight than "Updyke U", and I see more people in AU apparel at UAB sporting events, ergo, one of my favorite quotes, "The enemy of my enemy...is my friend." War Damn Eagle...Go Blazers!

Deep down, Auburn people know that what the BoT is doing to UAB, they'd do to Auburn if they could.

Everyone over 40 knows about the fued between Bartow and Bahr Bryant. Bamers despised Bartow as if he were satan for opposing their god. They have managed to pass their hate down to their children and now their grandchildren who have no idea why they hate UAB. They just do.
