ODU will face the Redbirds of Illinois State this sunday at 9 PM ET on Sunday November 23rd. If ODU can beat them they will play the winner of the Gardner Webb/Seton Hall matchup on monday night!
They're the Red Birds, I like this matchup.
Another super tough team. Gonna be battle tested by the time we get to conference play.

Just the Jones's.
Jeff Jones, just beat Johnny Jones the head coach of LSU and now will now face John Jones the head coach of the Red Birds.
RPI forecast has this team as a near .500 team with a mid-100's rpi.

Not as imposing as LSU's talent, but will assuredly be better coached.

However, I trust our JJ to put our guys in the best position to compete.

BTW, Palmore had a huge moment tonight. Many wondered his role going forward, and showed upperclassman leadership and calm. So pleased for him. Bacote hit a HUGE 3 late, and hoping he finds more comfort in his role going forward. Biberaj was money tonight, not just offensively, but with his defense. We lose tonight without him. Ever been able to say that about Sam or Anton? Kid earned his time tonight, and should see a scholly come his way for all remaining years. Well done, CNU Captain!

If we play like we did tonight and actually manage to shoot above 50% from the FT line (we were 11/23), we should be able to win this game and move on to the championship.
For those interested this is the Illinois State message board: http://www.redbirdfan.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=6

Little banter about our game against them but I'm sure there will be some comments as time gets closer.
I love Ross, but he needs to stay away from the free throw line. He sometimes looks like Superman, but free throws are his kryptonite.

To continue the Jones theme, Jeff Jones played against LSU coach Jones in the Final Four in the early 80's, Jeff Jones for UVa. and Johnny Jones for LSU.
Dan Muller is the head coach of the Redbirds. They were picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference, it would nice to beat a team from that conference too.

No doubt Biberaj, give that man a scholarship. I had no idea he could play like that and he is built a lot like Ross.

The power game Ross plays is gonna put him on the free throw line. I like the fact he stayed out of foul trouble and that dunk on a 6'11" player that was powerful. Yes he won't win the free throw competition.

Really? Biberaj is built like Ross? If you ignore the 20% body fat percentage discrepancy, I kinda see where you're going with that.
I was thinking the same thing Fatalisk. If ODU83Alumni thought Biberaj looked like he was built like Ross because of last nights game, then Nic should buy whatever camera they were shooting the game with, no price is too high.

Thank goodness ODU won that LSU game, now they stay in the ON TV Bracket instead of the me listening to a radio feed bracket!!!!! Beat them Redbirds!!!

Paradise Jam has their own live feed of the games online... but it's absolutely dreadful. Glad we're on the right side of the bracket.
Whether Biberaj is built like Ross or not, without him I don't think we win that game. Those 2 three-pointers really helped set the tone for this team going down the stretch. One thing I like that I see with these guys is that they're team-oriented and excited. Watching the players light up when their team mates make a 3 or a big play is so awesome.
