what happens to a college football team when they go through 5 coaching changes in a 5 year span, and then lose 19 players from their original 2 deep to season ending injuries... Just watch Arkansas State play for a few minutes

I feel bad for our Seniors. You just cant overcome all of this combined.

We had plenty of talent still on the field. The recruiting issues haven't really hit us that hard yet. Yeah the injuries have had a major impact. But there is more to it than just that.

Oh there's certainly more to it. But when you are limited to only a third of your offensive playbook, and forced to blitz every down to disguise a poor run defense, this is going to happen.

Its not about recruiting, more about the type of players brought in. We had three straight coaches ignore the DL position in recruiting. You cant do that.
Injuries are part of the game. This is the hand we were dealt. It is what it is. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us.
Sure glad we didn't have to play that juggernaut this season.

We still had the player talent to beat both App State and Texas State if we had called the right plays and executed better than they did. We did not.

They beat talented guys who have shown before that they can make plays and win lots of games.

App State and Texas State both played solid team football and called the plays to take advantage of our weakness on defense. App State in particular came up with a brilliant game plan. Texas State borrowed some of it like any good staff would.

Full credit where credit is due.

Yeah, kick us when we're down, moron. However, stAte has been here plugging away the last few seasons, and along with ULL and a few others, has helped put the SBC on the map while everyone else ran off to "greener pastures". You wouldn't have a conference to play in if it weren't for the schools who were already here busting their chops to try to be the best G5 conference around. Shut yer yap, Johnny come lately.
I feel your pain we had one big injury last year turn our season around you have multiple injuries. Like some one said earlier I feel for your seniors they have gutted it out and deserve a bowl game. Question if you go the GDB will you get some of those players back for the game. Hang in there nothing but Cajun love from this guy.

05-nono That's not what Seminole Indian told us.
Did stAte expect Texas St to roll over for them too?

I really like Georgia Southern's program, their tradition, their desire to compete and be champs every year, though some of their fans are a test. I guess we've all got our crosses to bear.
I can't relate to all the coaching changes but any GS fan sympathize with state regarding injuries. GS had 19 players miss significant time last year and wound up 4-4 in the SoCon as a result.

19 players is almost an entire level of a depth chart and 3/4 of a recruiting class..... that's a lot for anybody to overcome.
One other thing... pointing to that many injuries isn't an excuse, it is a reason.
Injuries are a part of the game. Small time to bring it up after a loss.

bottom line 5 coaches in 5 years is too much for any program to take, its going to eventually start having a negative effect in terms of recruiting, and a coach being able to get the most out of his players. I think Ark State players should be commended for being able to keep playing at a competitive level for as long as they have.

Your team was clicking early. That's a tall order to overcome.

no need to be a troll. ark state's fans have been great for the most part on this board. pointless to come into a thread about their season and bringing us into it. don't be a douche.
