Discussing the latest rankings. He started talking about the group of 5 and the access bid. He said the committee discussed Marshall, Colorado State, Boise State and, now...

Memphis.

Just nice to be a part of the conversation.

Excellent!
If possible crowd base is a consideration, let's realize that CSU & BSU might have trouble putting fans in Atlanta. Can Memphis show they can support and also travel better than Marshall?

I believe we would travel anywhere between 7,000-12,000. The school HAS to purchase 15,000 I believe. It might actually be 20,000. So the university would definitely have to take a hit
We sold out our allotment to ucla.
I don't think crowd size is a consideration in this new system. It's simply the best of the rest of 5 on their on field attributes.

We sold out of the allotment....that we didn't send back. Same with ole miss. There was about 1,500 of us at ucla. Our original allotment was 2,000. Sent 500 back. We requested 5,000 from ole miss. Sent about 3,000 back, and sold the 2,000 that we kept.
Wow, we'd easily take 15k to the Peach Bowl.....I may be underestimating.

How cool would that be?

I just don't see "easy 15,000." I see an easy 5,000. With potential for more
That Houston game...damn it.

Agreed. Would be nice though for it to become the basis for a rivalry. Cincy too. Bearcat fans seem to now hate us appropriately enough in football now as well.
The Peach would be hard to get since other teams have no loss or just two.

MEMPHIS first must win out to finish 9-3. I think if Marshall loses just one game, they drop like a rock. We need Boise State and Colorado State to lose again.

I also think the SEC won't be able to fill all their bowl slots, so a deal might happen to send the TIGERS to the Independence Bowl.

TCB on the field against USF and UCONN, then see how things shake out.
Don't we still have 2 games left? I like our chances but if the offense that showed in first half last week shows up again, could be trouble.

If the defense shows up and plays at the level they for most of the season then our offense can afford to be a little off. What we cannot afford is for our offense to turn the ball over 3 or 4 times in those games. We should win out and it will exciting to see how everything plays out. Just win baby...

yup
I will agree it is amazing that we are even able to have a post like this, speaks volumes just 3 years removed from total misery and embarrassment.

We took like 13k to to the new Orleans bowl. We would certainly have 15 for the peach

I swear to God, the second Jones caught the ball, I was screaming for him not to fumble. He doesn't have great hands to start with, and the angle he was running at and the angle that the defender had on him added up to prime fumbling position.

The SEC will fill all of their bowl slots.

They have 11 bowl tie-ins, including the playoff.

The SEC has 8 teams already bowl-eligible, and 5 teams with 5 wins. 3 of the 5 will be big favorites, and should become bowl eligible this week (TN over Vandy, So Carolina over So Alabama & FL over E. Kentucky).
If Arkansas beats Ole Miss or Missouri; or Kentucky beats Louisville, then they join the list of bowl eligible SEC teams.

The only SEC team that cannot become bowl eligible is Vanderbilt.
