After he kills athletics he won't be able to attend any function without someone giving him grief.
They will pay him off and he will ride off into the sunset smiling like the pig he is.
Some may believe he is being rewarded by some board members for his grief.

If he fought them they will pay him off to get rid of him. Same result but he rides off as the hero instead of the villain. I did have a booster tell me today that the next times he sees Watts he is going to call him a piece of **** to his face
He left out "backstabbing".
Like I said in another thread: if UAB football survives, Watts should be fired. If it does not survive, Watts and Mackin should both be fired.
The person doing the firing would be the same ones wanting them to act as they are doing.
That also is a good way for the BOT to try saving some face; since neither one is out publicly, they would be good scapegoats. I am just throwing that out there. If I were on the BOT and thought like they do, I would cast the blame on them, fire them both, and hired a couple more "yes" men in their places.

Good riddance to absolute rubbish! He shows his face at any UAB sporting event, he should be booed into oblivion! No one should want to hear anything he has to say to the fans if he kills football...Anything!!! The noise to drown him out should cause a seismic disturbance.
It won't matter what any of us think until the big money stops taking his calls and the development folks say the corporate money has dried up. When Alabama Power, Regions, Harbert, etc cut us off that's when he pays attention.

Bell can have a similar effect by refusing city government cooperation with UAB
If he kills football, UAB graduates should reverse their chairs at the graduation ceremony when he speaks...

This.

This, too! Every graduating UAB student-athlete should do the same...He will have besmirched them all with his actions/inactions.
Watts will be labeled as a failure either by his bosses or his constituents no matter how this goes. He's screwed either way.
i think this was all a big plot. Watts is going to release the study, which says we should keep football…AND say "look, sorry BOTSOB's…we've got plenty of support. we're building a stadium. suck it!"

I'm leaning that way too. Otherwise why would PBJ reach out to the Governor to shut the program down? It implies desperation on the part of PBJ.

How do you know that is true? Think objectively. Only two people would know if that actually happened. Not to discount anyone's sources, but I doubt anyone on Blazer talk has PBJ or the governor as a source.
Mine was sarcasm...but I sure hope it's true
I'm thinking Dr. Watts may have been planning a massive surprise attack FOR UAB athletics in general and UAB football in particular including construction of the on campus stadium. The reason the schedule wasn't filled in was because the money games were trying to be eliminated, the contract wasn't extended yet because it was going to be sweetened to keep HC Clark and staff here long term, and the final finances to fund everything had to be finalized by the study. Unfortunately, the new UAB Football Foundation caused Dr. Watts to expose some of his hand and realizing the political firestorm and possible disaster premature release of information might cause, he claimed up causing the drama we are having now. Well, at least that is the happy ending I'm trying to dream.
