I agree, the team played hard in the first half. They seemed to lack direction but the effort was there. But when Cotton dunked on Shaq they tucked their tails and puckered their butts.

The only time I remember us being a pretty good defensive team was Pastners first year. I guess having some of Cals guys still on the team helped that out...
I think having an assistant that he actually trusted and who understood defense helped a little too.
Have we seen any of that 1-3-1 zone since Murphy left?
