In 1939, the first NCAA tourney finals were held on the campus of Northwestern University. That is the closest the Wildcats have gotten to the tourney since.

Northwestern has started off strong, going 2-0 with wins over:

They are the only P5 school never to have made it.

They have zero chance of making it this year haha.
Rutgers is on the 24th annual will Rutgers finally make the Big Dance again watch. So Northwestern's not alone.
NW beats North Florida to go 3-0
Northwestern beats Elon 68-67 to go to 4-0
Northwestern beats Miami of Ohio 55-46 to go to 5-0
They might have a shot this year with the nice 5-0 start.
