11,899- avg attendance Tuesday and Wednesday
10,337- avg attendance Saturday

look at how much better our attendance would be if only we didn't play weeknight games in November. Saturday November games are wildly popular with the fans, obviously.

NIU averaged 15651 on Saturday and 10430 on other days. What was your point again? And this was with the biggest game of the year, against Toledo , on Tuesday.

are we pretending weather isn't a factor when comparing attendance for games in Sept vs games in November?

Are we pretending there are no other factors at all? In any case, all 3 of our Saturday home games were in October. The weather wasn't great for a couple of those either. And, night games (aka weeknight games) are always colder. And I'm talking actual people in the stands, not tickets sold. Every weeknight game, I can see students there on the East side because they're on campus (and half of them leave at halftime). But our west side ALWAYS has fewer people on weeknights.
There might be five people at the Akron-UMass game tonight. Negative wind chills.

Shouldn't be many more in Athens. I wanted to make the trip down from Columbus, but it is just too easy to watch it at home.

And that, gentleman, would appear to be the major factor in declining attendance for college football. Every game either televised or online Plus weather, costs, etc = people staying at home to watch.

I agree with you in a sense, but that's not the complete picture. A TV game on a weekend with the same weather, and I would have made the hour and a half trip, no question. This is part weather, part weekday.
Football shouldn't be played outdoors. Schools should just play their games from the indoor practice facilities. At least the players would be warm and the 10 people in attendance could take off their coats.
Read the comments section. Big Ten fans sound like a bunch of MAC fans when it comes to how to report attendance properly!:

That's cute. I think an extra digit got in there accidentally.

Is this like that Price Is Right game where there's one number too many and you have to guess which one to remove? I'll say remove the 4. I'm going with 1,505. Do I win?

hey braniac, that's not the NIU game. besides, how many times do we have to say it- attendance is based off of tickets sold. p.s. it must be your first day on the internet, welcome!
Toledo had 17,486 vs. BGSUCKS and that's the truth. Great first half crowd... then it looked like every other MACTION game thus far.
