"My initial focus has been to increase the support and attendance of all of our student athletic events, and I think you'll see over the coming year a very intensive program to get our faculty and employees and students out to support our student athletes and our teams."

"If we do that well, and we put together our strategic plan, then all of the other capital items will take care of themselves."

Watts: "I'm a strong believer that actions speak louder than words."

How about that increase in attendance this year in football?
Believe it when I see it.
Jon Soloman, in his article, stated that "(The key moment in UAB's future) came in 2011 when the Alabama board shot down UAB's proposal to build a $75-million, 30,000-seat stadium on campus. Fans often complain about the experience and amenities at aging Legion Field.

It is NOT all about fans complaining about the experience and amenities at aging Legion Field. The fact IS IF UAB achieves a strategic plan to BUILD AN ON CAMPUS STADIUM, success will come for UAB Football, in a HUGE WAY, no question about it.

Dr. Watts should not settle for less. There IS NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE. Dr. Watts should step forward and propose that UAB be allowed to construct an on campus stadium.

It is a total and complete waste to study and survey. That's all just a bunch of hogwash. They are wasting their time.
I remember the lying POS saying that...We're getting a "lesson" from him , alright.
And let's remind the media and Watts what Coach Clark said he was promised on his acceptance of the job:

It's going to be some work, but I did hear a commitment," Clark said. "I can't go into everything that was talked about, but there was a commitment to facilities. There was also a chance for them to say, 'You tell us what you want.

"They interviewed me. I interviewed them. I had to hear from the boss man (UAB President Dr. Ray Watts) that it was important to them. For me to leave my alma mater and the situation I had, I had to see some great things."

Oh, and in case Mackin is reading:

"We looked at this as a challenge, obviously, because of the timing, but I viewed it as an opportunity," Mackin said. "It was an opportunity to relook at what we are going to do here with UAB, with UAB football and hire the right man."

Gosh, I wish you were still SGA president; we really miss a voice like yours.
He's either a liar or the executor of the biggest mindf*** in UA System history.
