Epic Applause
That play made Homer look like Einstein and Werner Von Braun combined.

Now it all makes sense...

And now Im going to watch October Sky
I was more mad that they took the foot off the gas in the 4th quarter than the 4th down play. option was weird, but I loved the balls to do it.

That wasnt just the 4th quarter. It was the 3rd as well. After they scored the TD on the first drive of the 3rd quarter they played not to lose rather than keeping the same gameplan. Every play for the most part was a run up the middle or a pass which barely if at all went past the line of scrimmage. Then you would get the occasional long ball on 3rd and long.

stick to your gameplan dont switch it up. Especially when your D already gives up a lot of yards. Keep trying to score
Homer is more interested in seeing the other team at PBS succeed.

I think they were hoping they could run the ball and take some time off the clock to keep the ECU offense off the field, but it did not work.

I agree - they should have stuck with what was working.

Never understood the concept of going away from what was working. Yes they started blitzing more in the 2nd half, but surely they have designed pass plays to beat the blitz. By trying to run out the clock, they were running right into the blitz. Almost did not work out.
Well, at least he admits it...
Quote:Tuberville blamed himself for a "stupid" fourth-down call that nearly cost UC the game.

"I put our guys in a bind and I told them they dug me out of a hole," Tuberville said. "I don't have to listen the next couple of weeks about how stupid that call was, but it was a stupid call."

Those three running plays in a row, then punting, was inexcusable. Pretty sure that is what you are referring to.
