Yeah but getting it out will also get more signatures.

Maybe it wasn't a great idea, but it has gotten us some more publicity to help shed the light on our terrible situation. So, it that light, it has helped. However, we DO need to get more people to sign. Get your family members involved. Have them sign it!

The petition is a great idea. It only samples a % of the people who care about an issue. They are also not to be judged after a few days but after completion of their goal or allotted time set for said goal. Not to mention the POSITIVE publicity it has garnered. Stop worrying about comments on an al.com article and worry about our goals. Challenge them. Fine but don't let idiots comments that mean absolutely nothing sway you for the task at hand.

Yeah, if we can't get people to sign a petition, then how in the world do we expect it to help our cause? 2000 signature in this amount of time is embarrassing, if we are being honest with ourselves.

Averaging 450 a day and we are not even through this day. It's been averaging about 500 a day.

It has been moving fast for the last few hours. Nov. 11 was our record day, but today could surpass it by far if it keeps this pace. Keep pushing it.

Yep. I've had more success by asking people individually to sign it. Sharing and re-tweeting are great, but tagging them and asking them to sign has worked great.
