Jimbo is heading to FSU per ESPN to take over as the OC
That staff is pretty hard to beat for big name wise.. Bobby Bowden-HC.. Micky Andrews-D coord.. and Jimbo Fisher-O coord..
as a noles fan also they hired WVU offensive line coach who is regarded as one of the top 3 line coaches in the country
wierd after i read this.. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=...&type=lgns
this morning..
I think they pulled it because he was using Alabama a levarage to up the price. I like the hire, but not if he plans to leave in a year. Now if they added something to make him stay for more than one year then i am pleased. He wants a HC job badly. Lot of people moving into position to replace Bobby in a next few years.... Well ya never know with the ole ball coach.
This has been rumored for quite a while down here in the south, basically since Bobby's son "resigned" his OC position. The way it's been laid out down here the past few months is that Jimbo will come in as OC with the understanding that he will be given the highest "priority" when it comes to replacing Bobby after next year.

Bobby will stay at least 3 years.. or until he gets his next title.. whichever comes first..
O' you are correct, also Saben and Jimbo have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton, he was trying to play Bama v. FSU, bowden got tired of it and pulled it, Jimbo and new o-line coach Rick Trickett are old friends, they went hunting this weekend and patched it up. Also Jimbo was still pissed that bama blocked him getting the UAB job, which he actually wanted, I guess Bama's board basically runs UAB also
I like Jimbo, but i would have loved to grab Chris Hatcher. All the candidates they spoke about were qualified, but he had a explosive offense at Kentucky and has made Valdosta State into a perennial Champion as HC. He is young and would have been great. His down fall was not a big enough name to please the alumni.
I thought Rich Rodriquez was the heir apparent to Bowden because of the ties. Can't see F$U giving someone their first head coaching job.

Who cares? I'm sorry I'm pulling a HoopsJunky! ;-)

Seriously though, this is VERY interesting. The BCS shuffle continues. Thankfully we got out pot of gold in this BCS shuffle! 04-rock
