I highlighted games against basketball power conferences.

Some of you may not consider the A10 or AAC basketball power conferences, but they are.
Not a very impressive start strength of schedule wise, but we have no choice or we would have 0 non conf. home games..

WKU gets the privilege of being in NIT Season Tip-Off....Our reward was 2 road games vs. Minny and Stoney Brook and a neutral game at MSG vs. St. Joe's on Thanksgiving..OUr coach was not happy, neither are the fans, should have declined once we got shafted by the NIT...Meanwhile Georgia, St. Johns were selected over us to play in the real tournament Wed. and Friday at MSG.....Excuse me but how is Georgia or St. JOhns assumed to better than us this season? Neither school has done anything since early 80's in basketball.....

Week 2 is usually a stronger week. Most teams try to start out with easier games.

We'll get into tournament week starting in week 2 and see some better SOS games.

Some might not consider the SEC a basketball power conference either, lol.

I wouldn't consider SEC power conf. in hoops, they have been dreadful last few seasons with this season being no different....Amazing though still, a 10th place SEC finisher last few seasons still gets into Presason NIT though over WKU...ALso a team La. TEch beat by about a 100 last season..

FYI, the Charlotte-Penn State is a neutral court game in the Charleston Classic.
Don't know what to expect from F I U, we have 8 new players with our 2 leading scorers and 4/5 starters from last year gone. Go F I U!
I see 6 losses in there to start the season. That ain't too bad.
Hate to see LA TECH play AT Southern.Hope they get 2 home games out of that deal.CUSA teams should not play road games against SWAC teams IMO.

they don't, Southern came to Ruston last season and now Tech has to return the trip to Baton Rouge

I agree and hopefully since we are now paying White well we will continue to put more $ into men's BB.

he's been trying to get better teams but a lot won't play Tech or come to Ruston, I'm surprised he was able to get Syracuse on the schedule this season

We didn't have much success getting big teams at our arena this year, so we went on the road. Our first home game isn't until November 25th and our first home game with students not away on break isn't until January.

You have to do what you have to do to get a good schedule. Sucks for the fans sometimes, but I'd rather miss a home game or two against Irrelevant State or Dumpster Fire University if it means my team has a better chance of playing in a tournament that matters in March.
Unfortunately, our ex-coach Donnie Tydall left us with a road game @ Jackson State this year.....very sad.
We are a ways off from being competitive but it is worth noting that between the freshmen and 2015 signees we signed this week we have 5 players who were rated in the top 50 in their class in Texas.

I wouldn't expect much from us this year, but by the time a new coach takes over he will have some solid talent to work with.

I'll bite, which 6?
UNT beats Arkansas-Monticello 84-62

I'd rather them do that than play D-2's at home.
You forgot ECU vs NC Wesleyan

Apparently it was a football invite after all and we are back baby! I'm sure we will receive a warm welcome back from C-USA.

Of course ECU basketball is the afterthought of all afterthoughts so I can't really blame them.

On a serious note, good luck to all of the C-USA teams as they kick off the season. 04-cheers
