So who complained?

Slowly but surely Muslims are squeezing everyone out in favor of what they want.

Montgomery County Public Schools have closed for the Jewish high holidays for at least four decades because of the significant number of students and teachers who are absent on those days. The Muslim population is not large enough to warrant making it a school holiday.

The county Board of Education will vote Tuesday on whether to remove religious holidays from the school calendar.

Muslim students and parents are expected to demonstrate before the meeting, according to NBC.

In fairness I saw this on the TV news, and the muslims are arguing for days off for their holidays.

I predicted over a decade ago that this would happen. The obvious answer is: go back to your own ******* country if you don't like how it's done here.

Must be something to do with suburban DC. Here in Ohio I don't know of any public schools that take any Jewish holidays off either. Only the major Christian holidays (those supported by the federal gov't) come in to play usually. No good Friday and such.

Only areas with large jewish populations do this.

We never got jewish holidays off when I was in school, although I think some of the private schools in Charlotte that have a lot of jewish students do.

Jewish students were allowed to miss school without it counting as an absence though.

Just saw this on the news tonight. Even the pro-Muslim groups admit they're confused by the decision of the school district, as they didn't want any holidays removed from the calendar, they just wanted theirs added to the list.

You are right. How stupid of me to think a Muslim could actually been born here in the US, while totally disregarding the biological aspect of where one is born. I will not make that mistake again.

There is a sad irony in all of this, it started with a Jewish minority campaigning for holidays but now it is a new minority and suddenly the old minority us upset at being supplanted by a new one.

The school board did the only rational thing by canning all of them.

It takes a special kind of crazy to make a decision that will offend virtually everybody.
