Committee has zero respect for the Herd.
Ok.
The committee is a joke. Nothing but blowing smoke up the P5 ass.

It's all P5 homers except for the ex Air Force guy. Of course that's what they are doing. There's a reason they decided to go with this committee instead of just using the BCS standings to rank the top 4, because they can load the committee up with "their" guys and make the results look exactly how they want them to.
The rankings are ridiculous. I didn't expect everything to be sunshine and rainbows under the new system but I hoped it would be better than the BCS. I don't know what gave me that hope as I should have known better. Marshall deserves to be in the top 25. The committee can beat the SOS horse to death but it doesn't change the fact that if any of them actually followed all of college football and payed attention to how good teams really are, they would have Marshall ranked. It's really pretty disgusting. I don't know if it will ever change but the bias in college football continues to take something away from my enjoyment of it.

That said, I have to assume Marshall is going to end up playing in the access bowl (assuming they win out) and if/when they do I hope they absolutely embarrass their opponent. 05-mafia04-cheers
NO surprise here. Just worry about what you need to worry about, and for the moment...that is Rice! Our goal needs to be winning the Conference Championship...pure and simple. Anything else is gravy, as they say. In every year, ONE, and only ONE team out of the G5 is going to a big bowl. The odds for any team getting this crumb from the big boys is small, indeed. If it happens, great for that ONE team and its conference. If it doesn't, it's not going to ruin my enjoyment of this very special season.

That's a good attitude, and Marshall definitely needs to focus on what they can control, but if you're not going to be outraged I'm going to be outraged on your behalf dammit! 01-lauramac2
The committee is a complete joke but I bet we will have to wait until some of the P5 schools get pissed off about them until something changes

I posted about this in another thread. Could happen this year. I'm pulling for Duke to upset FSU in their CCG. Could have 1 loss champions from the B1G and ACC left out. The more people this system pisses off, the better.
LOL. Alabama not in the top four but TCU is? This thing is doomed to fail in the first year.

Amen brother. The last time we went undefeated, the best the power elite could give us was the Motor City bowl. It was still a heck of ride!

Alabama would skull drag TCU . . . and Florida State . . . and probably Oregon. They will end up leaving out a very influential party and all the chairs on the deck will need to be rearranged. The biggest problem with picking the best four teams in the country right now is that they are all in the SEC West. The playoff needs to get to eight ASAP.

That's spoken like a closet SEC fan. Alabama didn't skull drag WVU, who is a pretty mediocre B12 team. Sims is also an extremely mediocre QB at best. Neutral field I'd take TCU.

I agree Bama is not as good as they have been in past years and their QB play is average at best this season.

I am a Tech fan that lives in Baton Rouge . . . I HATE THE SEC. That being said, the SEC West is loaded with lethal defense; and that is what wins games. TCU and Baylor types look fun and prance around fine until they run into a secondary that makes them look like little girls.

QB play is why I believe if FSU makes the playoff that despite their flaws they have a real shot. Winston may be complete pond scum, but he's the best QB in college football by a landslide.
I don't know what to think. Right now, I think you could throw Oregon, TCU, Baylor, Miss St, FSU, Auburn/Bama, and maybe Ohio St/Arizona St all on neutral fields against each other and anyone can win.

I may get railed for this, but I don't like the mythical championships and never really have. If you don't have a playoff of the top 8 or maybe even 12 teams(1st round bye for top 4), then hey should just stick everyone in the best bowls they can and have a ranking after al the bowls are played. Team ranked highest after bowls gets the trophy.

You use that argument, with WVU, yet TCU needed a whole lot of luck to win by 1 over WVU. Bama was the first game breaking in a new QB and OC.

Marshall was mentioned first in the G5 list, which doesnt necessarily mean we are first, but its a subconcious thing when answering a question and Marshall came up first. Also, 3 or 4 top 25 teams will lose and drop out this week, ?? Marshall will be in next Tuesday.
I think this stuff is more ridiculous than the previous system. There is no consistency in the rankings from week to week.
