Press Release

No mention whether her career has permanently come to an end.
Sad news, but no surprise given that she's been unable to practice. If Recker's injury allows her to return the following season, we could face a numbers problem. We potentially have 12 other returning players, and we have verbal commitments from three. When Naama red-shirted, the NCAA allowed us to carry 16 on the condition that we would only carry 14 the following year. In that case, though, Naama's injury occurred after the high school seniors had signed letters of intent. I don't think we would get such a waiver from the NCAA this time. We might not even want one, since it would mean we couldn't recruit anyone for the 2016-17 season after the loss of Harris and Capotosto.

Most years, at least one player leaves the program, which would open up a spot. It will be interesting to see if all three of our verbals sign letters of intent. I think that the early signing period starts tomorrow.

She will not play again.
Shame. Good luck to her. I remember her injury. Amazing that he actually reentered the game later on for a short while if I recall.

Unfortunate for sure. At least she got more game time in her abbreviated career than Mariah Carson who also suffered a career ending back injury.
Very sad news.
Best wishes to Stephanie. She's one of my favorite players. I talked to her at the Igniters picnic and she was so excited to get the season started.
That's really too bad. Wish her all the best in the future.
The bench is getting short again.
Best wishes
