What do we know about Bill Carr's Study.How far does it go back and does it use this year's number?
In 2012 there was an article written about Carr and below is the last line of the story.

Like many schools, UAB entrusted its future in part to an outsider. No matter how McGee and Haase turn out, Carr has cashed his paychecks.

The "study" when applied the same way to all but 30 or so programs would probably come up with the same result.

Carr and Co. got us Clark, too.

It's my personal opinion that the study will show investment needed to sustain all sports, including football. I don't think it will make a specific recommendation to do anything. The BOT will attempt to then kill athletics in the name of fiscal responsibility. The good news is that they will have to fight the public opinion and capital commitments from the Foundation and City of Birmingham.

Also, could Carr have recommended a 3-year contract in order to get more bang for the buck (ie larger/longer buyout period for Clark if he has success)? I think it's helpful to play the other side every once in a while--as long as we assume nothing.

Don't kid yourself. Bill Clark was given the last three years remaining on Garrick McGee's contract. Mackin probably knew the whole freaking time what was going on and didn't have the balls to tell anyone. The more I think about this, the more pissed I become with all the lies that Watts and company gave Clark and his coaching staff.

Imagine how Coach Clark & his family feels. If this goes South on us, wherever he goes to coach football, that's where my support's going. I'm too, because I can't help but feel that an entire fan base has been bamboozled internally by those who claim to be on our side. Also, can't help but wonder, even if UAB Football weathers this storm, can Coach Clark continue to work for people he obviously cannot trust to have his back from an administrative standpoint? I honestly wouldn't blame him if he told Mackin and Watts to....Well, you get the idea...

I think if it comes out by December that UAB is keeping football and we are going to begin work on new facilities, he will likely stay. Short of that, I think he's going to leave pretty quickly and honestly who would blame him.

If football weathers this storm, then we have all been wrong and Clark will find out that the administration actually did have his back.

I don't see a scenario where it comes out that Mackin and Watts lied to Clark and football remains at UAB.

If football is killed off, I'll then be a fan of the school Clark goes to.

If Football remains, that's exactly what the scenario would be. Mackin and Watts have both admitted that this study has been going on for a year...that's longer than Clark has been an employee of UAB. They hired him without telling him about a study regarding the program's future. They already lied to him.

There is no scenario where the administration actually has his back. "Having his back" means nipping this in the bud and being on the forefront, not putting out PR bullcrap. "Having his back" means being there for the program/team and not having to have Coach Clark SEEK Watts out for information.

BEST case scenario is that pressure is high enough that Watts and company (BOT included) backtrack and try to brush it under the rug as if it was the plan all along when it was not.

+1 great idea. I totally agree, he is a great coach and person despite all this nonsense and I am a huge fan of him

What if he goes to Alabama to replace Saban?

If football is killed off, I'll be a fan of UAB. My allegiance to my alma mater won't be changed by the actions of a few people. My diploma reads "UAB." That will never change.
